Stars on his eyes (Xion&Leedo)

by KimTanAnukite

Summary

"I can't. I'm sorry—" He cried in a whisper.

"It's okay," Geonhak sighed and turned to wash the rest of his body. Dongju couldn't stop
the silent tears that fell from his face as the silence around brought everything back to his
mind.

Those terrible things had happened just the day before yesterday, and now he was here,
unable to wash himself and bothering an alpha that surely had better things to do than to
take care of a stranger.

Or, Dongju escapes and the smell of bread brings him to this new pack, where an alpha
helps him adapt as they get to know each other. Geonhak soon learns that the omega is not
only what he needed, but a special boy with an special connection with the stars.

(or, I just took a random part of the first chapter because I don't want to give too much
away)
Chapter 1

Chapter 1

He just kept walking.

The sky behind him was darkened with smoke and the horizon was red.

There was nothing left for him in that place. Not alive nor burnt.

The air was starting to turn cold as the distance between his village and him grew. The autumn
scenario in front of him was beautiful and somehow it was enough for determination to fill his
chest. So he kept walking.

He fell asleep when the sun set, and woke up at dawn.

His stomach made a sound, and he now had a mission to get food, so he started walking again.
Despite the hunger, he felt alive. Alive for the first time in so many years.

So he laughed. He was happy, and his steps got lighter with that joy.

He had walked for another day when he smelt bread, and it took him a few seconds to realize it
wasn't his imagination.

A village stood far to his right. He knew he had to be careful since they could be dangerous
people, but it was worth the try.

Besides, it was hard to believe that other pack could be worse than his.

"Stop there. Who are you?"

A tall alpha was pointing at him from a tree. So he stopped.

"I'm just a passerby. I'm hungry."

The alpha nodded, walking closer to him. "Why do you smell like fire, omega?"

"My name is Dongju."

Another guy approached them. This was a beta, and he had a sided smile. "So, you only want food?
Did you run away from your pack?"

Dongju frowned. "How—"

"How did I know? Oh, Keonhee here is my mate, and we share a mind link. We can give you food,
but you have to give me answers. That smell is not from a fire place, but a fire. Am I right?"

"You are. But I didn't run away."

"You burnt it down?" Keonhee asked with wide eyes, and his expression only softened when
Dongju shook his head.

"I merely survived."

The beta seemed to trust his answers, but the alpha didn't. He pulled his mate aside to whisper on
his ear, and Dongju chuckled. They could have used their mind link.

"We will give you food, but eveytime we let someone in our village they need to pass this.. test.
You can call us paranoic but we prefer to be sure our pack will be safe."

Dongju nodded. There was no point in trying to lie, and he hadn't done anything wrong so there
was nothing to fear.

They brought him to a huge fireplace that had a small stage on one side. People started to gather
around, curious as they passed by from their chores to their homes. The beta, who was called
Youngjo, asked Keonhee to bring 'the others.'

"Don't worry, it'll be over soon and then you can join us on the feast. Today is a special day so
everyone is eating at the fireplace. I'm sure you are going to like it."

Dongju smiled slightly. He had tried to be firm and not show any sign of weekness, like trust, but it
was hard to with the beta's comforting scent.

"Is that him? You could have asked him to wash up first." A deep voice complained and Dongju
refused to raise his head at such comment.

"He is hungry, Geonhak. Can we get over this? I hate making omegas go through this."

Dongju's chest felt ligther at Keonhee's comment.

"This is our second in command, Geonhak. He is going to ask you something with his alpha voice,
I know it can be painful but we'll make it quick. Also, I have the last word in this situation, so no
matter what happens, I promise you won't leave with an empty stomach nor supplies to survive out
there."

Dongju nodded at Youngjo, slightly confused about a beta having more authority than the alpha.
But he couldn't think for that long as the deep voiced alpha walked behind him on the stage.

Geonhak wrapped one of his arms around his waist while his other hand covered his neck. Dongju
suddenly felt scared. This alpha could rip his throat in two seconds, and everything he endured
back on his pack would have been in vain. All he went through would only become his legacy, one
that no one would remember. Although it was one that no one should remember.

"What is your name?"

"Dongju."

"Where is your pack?"

"Back on the village—" he closed his eyes when he felt that hand tightening. "They are dead."

Everyone around was now paying close attention. The alpha had merely asked a couple of
questions but Dongju felt heavily judged.

And his stomach hurt with the pain of a dagger at the next question. Geonhak was now using his
alpha voice. "Did you burn them?"

"No!" He cried, "I tried to help them after the fire reached the hall, but it was too hot. It wasn't my
intention to leave."

"Who set the fire on?"

"No one! I believe it was an accident. On the kitchen, everyone was having dinner, and drinking."

"What happened to the children?"

Dongju shook his head, now fully sobbing.

"Answer!"

"I—" He could feel his legs giving up, but Geonhak's grip didn't let him fall to the ground. "There
were only three pups, and their mothers had them with them as they drank."

People around started to whisper. But Dongju could only hear his own cries and Geonhak's heavy
breathing.

"Where were you?"

Dongju shook his head. There was too many people around and he didn't want them to hear
everything. But resisting to Geonhak's alpha voice felt like claws gashing at his stomach.

"I had passed out earlier. On the head alpha's bed."

Geonhak tightened the arm that was around his stomach, and he faltered for a second before
speaking in that voice again.

"Were you his mate?"

Dongju had his eyes fixed on the grass in front of him. All strength gone, as well as the adrenaline
that got him here.

He shook his head. His voice was too quiet as he recounted what happened, but it was enough for
the two alphas and the beta to hear.

"No. He— I couldn't fight against them, and it kept them away from other omegas so I stopped
trying to fight back. It distracted them for a while, and I wasn't asked to do other tasks, so it
allowed me to collect things. I was ready to escape the night before, but he caught me at dawn
and.. it was worse than any other time. That's why I couldn't hear their screams when the fire
started. I only woke up when it was too late."

"That's enough." Keonhee intervened. "What are your intentions here?"

"I just want bread."

Youngjo smiled with saddness and raised his chin with a gentle touch. "I'm sorry you had to go
through that." He signaled Geonhak to let him go. "Whatever you need will be provided as long as
you stay here. Can someone bring this boy some bread? Please?"

Keonhee got down from the stage as everyone left to clean up before dinner. Dongju just stood
there, he could feel Geonhak so close to his body, yet he had no energy to turn around nor sit
down.

"Could you take him to Seoho?" The alpha sighed but extended his arm for Donju to take. "You
can trust him, he seems a bit moody but in reality he's soft."

Dongju shivered. Soft? The owner of that voice that had also used his alpha voice on him?

"Okay."
"Let's go." Geonhak urged him, leading the weak omega towards a dark wooden cabin. "Here,
Seoho is our healer."

Dongju looked at the place, there were some candles by the window and plants in front of the door.
He was feeling dizzy and almost fell when he turned around at the smell of bread.

"Here, Dongju. When you finish here, could you bring him to the white wood cabin? Youngjo is
going to prepare it for him, as well as a bath."

"Am I his babysitter?" Geonhak complained and only then did Dongju realised he was still holding
his arm.

He immediately let go and took the bread Keonhee offered to him. He finished it in mere seconds,
and he could swear Geonhak smirked at him.

"Are you questioning Youngjo's judgement?"

Geonhak's annoyed expression disapeared from his face and he shook his head. "Never. We'll be
there after he gets checked."

Keonhee nodded and then smiled at Dongju before leaving. Geonhak opened the door for him and
different smells of plants and roots engulfed the omega.

A tall beta introduced himself and asked different questions about his life style and the fire. Dongju
had some burnts on his hands that he hadn't even noticed before, and Seoho explained it must have
been the shock of the situation.

"You can take a bath but you'll need help, don't let the soap touch these wounds directly or it will
sting even more. As soon as you get out you can apply this ointment on them and then replace the
bandages to keep it there."

Dongju pouted as he looked at his burnt palms and then at Geonhak. The alpha seemed annoyed
and he was nervous about annoying him even more. The soap couldn't sting that much, right?

"Now, can I check the rest of your wounds?"

"Other wounds?" Dongju asked nervously.

"If you want me to treat them, I'll do it. If you don't, I respect that. Bruises will heal on their own,
but if you press one and it makes you dizzy or you want to scream, it probably means something is
broken."

Dongju nodded and tried to ignore Geonhak's eyes that were now set on him.

"Also—" Seoho side eyed Geonhak and the alpha stepped back, fidgeting with things he found on
a table. "If it hurts more than usual, and you want me to check I can do so too. Meanwhile you can
apply this and drink these leaves in tea if it stings. Do you think you could be pregnant?"

"No."

"Do you take herbs?"

"No. I just, can't."

Seoho frowned, but Dongju was too tired to explain. He also didn't want the other alpha to hear
anything else, he already knew too much about his personal matters.
"Okay. Then you are free to go. I'll be here in case you need me, also you can look for
Hwanwoong if you need to speak with someone. He is my omega mate. And a great listener."

Once again, Dongju nodded.

The walk to the white wood cabin was quiet. Geonhak stayed close in case Dongju felt dizzy
again, but they made it without any inconviniences. The alpha opened the door for him and guided
him towards the bedroom and adjacent bathroom.

"Okay, take this off. I'll bring the towels."

Dongju was exhausted, both physically and mentally, so he just did as asked. He hurried to get in
the water before the alpha came back and barely managed to sit down without falling. Geonhak
acted as if he had done this many times, opening a cabinet to take some oils that he emptied on the
water.

Dongju just watched as he knelt down next to the tub. He felt a bit pathetic with his hands out of
the water and palms turned up. Unable to do anything with the bandages covering them.

"I'm sorry about earlier. It's not that I wanted to use my alpha voice, but I'm the one that has to do it
when someone new comes around."

He started explaining as he reached for Dongju's arm to wash it as if giving another person a bath
was normal for him. The omega sat up and turned as told so Geonhak could wash his hair and
back.

The alpha carefully passed the soap over the bruises on his skin, trying not to press too hard and
making a mental note to let Seoho know about those. "You can stay in this cabin for as long as you
want. Even if you decide to stay permanently I know the others will agree with it."

Dongju bit his lip as he thought about it. Then he nodded, "thank you."

The alpha eventually stood up and turned away. "You can stand up and wash yourself, I'll just hold
you." He held the omega by wrapping his forearm around his waist.

Only the sound of water moving and Dongju's small whimpers filled the room for a few moments.
"I can't. I'm sorry—" He cried in a whisper. The burnts on his hands stinged way too much,
specially with the soap, and the rest of his body felt heavy now. Plus, he was now aware of the
huge bruises all over it.

"It's okay," Geonhak sighed and turned to wash the rest of his body. Dongju couldn't stop the silent
tears that fell from his face as the silence around brought everything back to his mind.

Those terrible things had happened just the day before yesterday, and now he was here, unable to
wash himself and bothering an alpha that surely had better things to do than to bath a stranger as he
would do a baby.

He was soon sitting on the bed and wrapped in a huge towel as Geonhak emptied the bathtub. The
bedroom was nice although small, and it was warm compared to the chilly air outside. He felt
sleepy as a result from the distance he had walked, and his eyes were puffy from crying.

"Let's go eat so you can sleep, okay? Stand up." The alpha got him dressed and then applied
ointment to his burnt hands before wrapping them in new bandages. The alpha's voice got softer
every time he spoke, despite the low tone it had.
They joined the rest of the village on the feast and he was relieved that no one had tried to speak
with him further than basic greetings. Youngjo introduced him to other guys that looked around his
age and, after he ate, the beta told him to go rest.

As Dongju slowly made his way towards the cabin he noticed Geonhak's scent following him.
Before entering the cabin he turned around and indeed found the alpha standing there.

Geonhak looked down at his hands and then stepped back. "I want to apologize again, for forcing
you to say what happened to you in front of others. You— you can lock up your door if you want to
feel safer, but know that no one here will hurt you."

"Okay." He whispered and tried to give a small smile.

Chapter 2
Chapter Notes

NOTE: in this universe from the moment they are pups their families know their
secondary gender due to smell. But they don't present until they are older and their
bodies mature enough to mate.

The first nights were the hardest. He would have nightmares all the time, which eventually resulted
on him having insomnia and feeling exhausted during the day. Also, Geonhak had had to help him
once more to take a bath before his wounds closed enough for him to start doing things by himself.

They didn't speak more than necessary but Dongju noticed that it wasn't uncomfortable.
Hwanwoong, Seoho's mate, explained that Geonhak would take care of pups and old people so it
came natural for him to help the omega on these tasks.

Once the burnts stop bothering him, Dongju asked Youngjo to asign him something to work on.
Dongju was then put in charge of a group of young omegas and betas. He taught them how to bake
as well as some crafts, and it really made him happy.

"Geonhak?" The alpha had just came back from hunting and left his prey on the kitchens that
morning when Dongju aproached him. He kept walking towards the campfire and started to chop
wood as the omega stood in front of him.

"I'm going to teach my group about the stars tonight, would you like to bring your group to it?"

The older looked at him for a moment and paused his task. "Only you and the kids?" When the
omega nodded he sighed. "I'll go because it's dangerous for you to go out alone."

Dongju rolled his eyes at that. "Okay. We leave an hour after dinner."

Geonhak then brought his small group of alphas and betas to the campfire and they joined
Dongju's. They wanderend into the woods, following the alpha as he knew the area best then
anyone. The kids were fascinated about the stories Dongju told them of the stars, what they meant,
and how they could help them find their way home.

"How do you know so much about stars?" A little alpha asked him, eyes full of wonder.

"Mmm. I grew up with them." He smiled as if it was a secret. "My mom, her family passed this
knowledge and more stories through centuries and centuries to their decendants. She said they had
come from the stars."

"So, you can do magic?" A girl omega asked, crossing her arms when Dongju shook his head.

"Can your family do magic?"

"Um, my mom said that some omegas could, but—"

"Male omegas too? Like you?"

"Where are they? Why are you here alone?" That girl questioned among the other kids' questions,
but Geonhak stood up to stop them.

"I think that's enough for toni-"

"Will your babies have magic?" The little alpha jumped in excitement. But Dongju's expression
had flattered long enough for Geonhak to notice that the question had distressed him.

"Sangie, that's enough for today, okay?" Geonhak's voice was soft and he ruffled the kids hair
when he frowned. Dongju just agreed and they put them to sleep by the fire place.

They sat in silence for a long time, Geonhak feeding the fire while the omega looked at the stars.

"It doesn't bother me," Dongju started, "their questions, I mean. They are kids and pups are
curious, you know? And, I know you know the answer for Sangie's question."

Geonhak moved to sit closer and spoke in a quiet voice. "You can't have pups."

"I can't."

"How do you know?"

Dongju sat up straighter, and made a face. "I— I just know. Omega stuff."

The alpha didn't ask any further and just followed the other to a rock that was a bit further apart
from the fire, so he could appreciate the sky without the smoke getting in his eyes. Geonhak's
presence was weirdly comforting, and his warmth plus the night sounds around them only filled his
heart more and more as stargazing usually did.

"They are beautiful."

Dongju smiled and leaned his head to a side. "Aren't they? I love staring at them, specially the
clusters. Mom said they are millions of stars that stay togheter. Like a pack."

Geonhak nodded, having a hard time to break the eye contact in order to look for said star clusters.
He could hear the omega sigh with a smile every now and then, and the pace of his heart sped up.
He didn't even notice himself but he was no longer looking at the sky.

The younger seemed to notice after a while, though, because he lowered his gaze to his hands and
then to look at him in the eye. "What is it?" he whispered.

"Hm?"

"The stars are up there..."

"Ah," Geonhak nodded, but then shook his head, "I— sorry. I was spacing out." Dongju laughed
and stood up in front of him but the alpha spoke before he could say anything. "Is like there are
stars in your eyes."

"Uh—" Dongju was surprised at the comment and the tone the other had used.

But Geonhak frowned, "I— I didn't meant to say it aloud. Was it weird?"

"A bit." Dongju teased in a whisper. "Do you mean it?"

The alpha's brain was running miles per hour, but his heart felt light. So he smiled and grabbed the
younger's hand for a second. "Yes".

After they came back from that camp night everyone started talking. Youngjo heard from some of
the kids and decided to have a walk with the newcomer. Not only had everyone accepted Dongju in
the village, but also in the pack.

Most of the villagers that were his age had already mated, except Geonhak, so it was a suprise even
for his closer friends that the fragile omega had caught his attention.

"We sincerely thought he would stay single forever. That he would only look out for our pups and
the pack if something were to happen to me."

"Why?"

"Because he never had interest in dating, let alone in love. He has always focused on his goals, on
his tasks, no matter how small they seem to be."

"So he's never had someone?"

Youngjo shook his head. "His parents brought him to our village when he was a baby, and they left
after two days. They left him behind. Hwanwoong parents were the head beta and omega at that
time, so they decided to keep him in the pack. The former doctor raised him but she passed away
from old age when he was still young. He was always trying to help other kids and old members of
the pack, but never showed any interest in finding someone."

Dongju learned that Youngjo and the other guys, Geonhak's closer friends, basically were hoping
that changed because of Dongju. They confesed that the alpha seemed more happy and calm since
he arrived to the village, even if he didn't show it all the time.

A few nights later Dongju couldn't sleep, so he wrapped himself in a blanket and went out for a
walk. He stopped at a clearing and sat down with his legs crossed. Stargazing always helped him—
it was quiet and the intrusive negative thoughts or memories didn't come to him.

He heard slight steps walking through the grass, approaching him, and he sighed with a smile as
Geonhak's wooden earthy scent filled the air around him.

The alpha kneeled behind Dongju and, after what felt like minutes, he wrapped the omega in a soft
embrace. Dongju closed his eyes and rested his head back on the older's shoulder, "I couldn't
sleep."

"Nightmares?"

Dongju nodded. "You?"

"I don't— I don't know. I just woke up and walked around, then I found you."

The omega giggled, turning his head to press his nose to Geonhak's neck. "Stalker."

"Hey." He complained but couldn't think of a comeback as chills traveled through his body.

They just stayed seated like that for about an hour until the alpha's legs started to cramp. So he sat
up and Dongju sat between his extended legs, and, resting back against his chest, he finally fell
asleep.

On the morning Keonhee approached the other alpha as he left Dongju in the white wooden cabin.
"Are you officially courting him?"

Geonhak huffed, "I don't know. I just feel like I need to be by his side and— then I somehow find
him and sometimes we don't even speak. I just stay there, and he stays with me."

Keonhee smiled. "If it was anyone else I would call them a creep, or stalker. But, since it's you, I
would even dare to say that you have found your soulmate."

"We haven't even known each other for that long."

"Don't you remember the lessons on soulmates? That doesn't matter when it comes to the person
you were meant to find. You seem different this days. You finally seem at peace, as if he took a
huge weight from your shoulders."

"What if it's just temporal? And—"

Keonhee stopped him. "At first I thought it was something instinctual. He was a new omega who
just experienced things no one should. And you, a single alpha that was on charge of helping him.
But you have never been like that. If it was anyone else, yes, this could be temporal."

Geonhak couldn't help but smile, fidgeting with his hands nervously. "I— I think you are right.
What should I do?"

The other alpha smiled, happy to see his life friend in love. "Just.. love him. Help him, protect him,
teach him, learn from him, respect him."

"Like you do with Youngjo." He nodded.

"Yes." Keonhee patted his shoulder. "Talk to him, okay? Let him know how you feel and hear
what he has to say."

"I'll do so."

Chapter 3

"Can't sleep?"

Dongju turned around and smiled, holding closer the blanket he was wrapped in. "Geonhak."

The alpha raised his hand to show him a basket. "I brought some snacks. Do you want to have a
picnic by the hotsprings?"

"Okay."

They walked towards the lake and settled beside a warm stream while talking about their days. "I
brought your favorite," Geonhak settled different types of bread on a small blanket and laughed at
the omega's excitement. "And raspberries."

"Raspberries?" he grabbed some in curiosity. "I had never seen these berries."

"That's how you smell. Your specific scent."

Dongju felt his heart warming and his eyes watering, and Geonhak looked at him in worry as he
held as many as possible in his hand to press them against his nose.

"Mom said I smell like space dust, so this must be what it tastes like." Geonhak's expression
relaxed and he smiled as the omega ate the berries and his eyes lighted up.

"So you really come from the stars?"

The omega nodded. "My family did. But words through generations can be changed, so I don't
know why, or how much of their heritance is in me. I know it is true because my pack was scared
of this. They sent my mom and brother away fearing we could learn magic and threaten their
positions."

"But they kept you?"

"Yes. As a baby and toddler I never smelt like anything but milk, which is.. an early sign of
infertility. I still haven't had a heat yet except for when I presented, so they never had to worry
about me getting pregnant or having magic; because I am not a whole omega."

Dongju didn't have time to feel embarassed at saying this. Before, he would have. He hated that he
couldn't get pregnant but he hated more that his pack had taken advantage of it.

He wanted to be sincere with the alpha, share with him things about his past and to share his
present with him.

"They clearly didn't know how special you really are, but I'm glad they didn't. I'm glad no one
realised this and claimed you for themselves."

The omega's heart raced at that, although Geonhak's smell of slightly burnt wood weirdly calmed
him down.
Still, he couldn't help but admit, "They did use me, though. I'm not a pure omega either."

The alpha frowned, "You are. That doesn't change you inside. I mean, it hurt you but it doesn't
mean you are stained. At all. Even if you had done it on purpose or with someone you liked back
then."

"I never did. There was no one to like back there." Dongju left his bread aside and reached to play
with one of Geonhak's hands. "So, it doesn't bother you?"

"What?"

"That they slept with me."

"It bothers me that they did it without your permission and with bad intentions. You—" he
frowned. "It shouldn't bother or concern anyone but you. Also, I— okay. I really like you, and I
want to court you properly, but we both know that already, right? In this pack we don't follow the
old traditional ways of the ancient packs, the hierarchy of second gender doesn't exists as such."

"I know. I like it here."

He knelt up to move closer to the alpha, hugging his arm and hiding his face against his shoulder.

"Do—Dongju, would you accept me courting you?"

"I thought you were already doing it?"

Geonhak laughed, "I— I am, but I still wanted to ask, because I just realised very recently. I didn't
want to make you uncomfortable as you are still healing and adapting to the pack."

"Mmm. But I like you, it feels normal. Somehow, this all feels as what normal should feel. I'm not
gonna lie, at first I was afraid of making you angry because I was used to alphas lashing at me, but
you never did. Not even when you had to give me a bath."

The alpha covered his eyes as Dongju laughed. "I'm sorry, back then I was annoyed because I
didn't know you and I had just finished my watch so I was tired and hungry."

"Still. You helped me, and didn't make me feel uncomfortable about it."

"Anytime."

"Geonhak!" Dongju gasped, hitting the other on the shoulder and going back to eat more
raspberries.

About a week later they sat down by the almost extinguished fire on the center of the village and
decided that they would give their relationship a try, consider themselves a couple and let the
others know.

It was Geonhak who leaned in first, looking at Dongju's eyes in search of approval before kissing
him. The omega blushed as he, thankfully, had never been kissed, not even by those alphas back in
the pack.

When he mentioned this, Geonhak's chest filled with pride and excitement, and it was hard to get a
second kiss without one of them smiling. "It's come to my attention that you have never been to my
cabin."
Dongju opened his eyes wide. "Now, why would I go there?"

Geonhak laughed. "Nothing like that. It's just that, I want you to know that whenever you are on
the opposite side of the camp and it rains, or you feel like resting, or anything, you can go in."

"I see," he smiled. "Same with the white cabin, if you ever want to stay over or can't sleep, we can
chat there."

The alpha nodded, holding out his hand. "Should we go tell the others about this?"

"I think they already know it," Dongju whispered when he saw some of the others approaching
them.

"Geonhak, Dongju." Youngjo greeted as they sat down with them. Keonhee and Seoho looked
amused while Hwanwoong only smiled fondly at the other omega. "Is this what I think it is?" he
asked, referring to their hands.

"It is." Geonhak appeared firm and confident but the omega could tell his heart was racing by the
pulse on his wrist.

Dongju smiled around as they teased and congratulated them. He knew they were important people
to his soon to be alpha, and they seemed to accept him completely as they shared their support.

It was hours past midnight when Dongju caught himself dozzing off. They had spent hours sharing
stories from the past and present, about the pack, about their families. Hwanwoong was already
asleep on Seoho's arms, who didn't seem to be bothered by the dead weight even after hours.

The omega's neck was slightly exposed and Dongju could see the mating mark on the smooth skin.
A completely new and foreign desire filled his chest. It was confusing and overwhelming, but
thankfully the others didn't seem to notice.

Geonhak guided him back to the white cabin no long after they had said their goodbyes. The alpha
had to hunt early so Dongju tried not to complain about being left alone.

It was just their first day officially together and he didn't intend to overwhelm the other with this
new clinginess.

Maybe it was because he had never had a partner before. Or he was simply getting older and the
urge to settle down was getting to him. But whatever it was, Dongju knew he would have to learn
to control it.

A week later, the feeling hadn't disappeared.

The alpha and him would go on walks daily, either in the morning, afternoon or at night.
Hwanwoong complained because they spent hours on their own and he also wanted to spend time
with his fellow omega.

"We'll be together all the time, don't worry."

"Hwanwoong, the fact that he is with you is what makes me nervous."

The smaller omega mocked his voice with lazy eyes. "Whatever. Let's go Dongju, we need quality
time away from alphas and their pheromones."
Dongju agreed and they left after he pecked Geonhak's lips.

"You really look good together. I'm so glad that you came to us."

Dongju wrapped their arms together as they walked side by side. "I am really glad I came here.
This is more than I could have ever imagined."

Hwanwoong leaned towards him for a second to show affection. "You deserve so much. What you
have been throughI —wish I could do something to make you forget. I know you still have hard
time falling asleep."

"I do, but I'm not sure anymore if it's because of my nightmares. I just feel more alive when the sky
is clear at night, so I go out to watch the stars."

"So is it real? What the kids said?"

"What do they say?"

"That you can do magic with the stars."

Dongju laughed as they sat down on the grass to eat their snacks. "I wish. I didn't inherit the
magic, nor the fertility, so..."

Hwanwoong stared at him with sorrow,}. "If I get pregnant, would you take one of my pups?"

Dongju shook his head with a smile, "I can't do that. I'll be fine, and anyway, Geonhak already has
a ton of kids under his charge, so I hope he'll never regret mating an omega that can't give him his
own pups."

"So he knows?"

"He does." Dongju accepted happily the food his friend fed him. "It's fine, I have known my whole
life. I don't get heats."

"What?"

"Yeah."

"At all? Like—"

"Just like you heard," Dongju threw a raspberry at him. "I only had one, when I presented, but the
symptoms where so mild that it took me a while to realise something was going on."

Hwanwoong leaned in. "And.. have you guys ever been together yet?"

Dongju shook his head. "No, I feel like we are going slow, but I don't complain. It's perfect this
way. I know what you want to ask, though." He laughed, "Yes, I do slick, and of course I want to
be with him, it's just... not the correct time."

The older sat up while munching on fruit. "Well, if I can't trigger your heat then maybe you can
help me whenever Seoho get's too tired. He literally can't keep up with my heats, poor weak
alphas."

Dongju laughed but nodded, "Maybe I can help."

They spent hours chatting and eating, and when it was getting dark they headed to the campfire
area. Hwanwoong walked directly to Seoho and handed him the empty basket and blanket before
climbing up his back.

"Don't fall asleep, please? We need to have dinner."

Dongju smiled at them and soon found Geonhak among the others as the alpha carried heavy logs
to the middle of the campfire. "Hi," Dongju greeted, his smile widening when Geonhak hugged
him.

"Hey, we were just about to turn this on. Do you still have space for food?" The omega nodded and
sat down waiting for everything to be ready.

As they were eating, a pup came running to Geonhak, his small hands in fists as tears fell from his
eyes. "They don't want to play with me!"

"Ow, come here." The alpha took the child on his arms comforting him with words about him
being one of the strongest betas he had met even if he was still a pup. When he had calmed down
enough, he reached for Dongju silently.

The omega took his small hand on his as Geonhak kept rocking him side to side. "Do you want to
see something pretty?"

The tiny beta nodded with interest. Dongju then leaned in closer to him and whispered on his ear,
but of course Geonhak could hear too. "Have you ever seen a star falling?" When the toddler shook
his head, he continued. "These stars that visit earth are small, they are as small as a pebble, or your
fist, but they can still light up the night and give such a beautiful sight."

The kid looked up but Dongju pointed somewhere else. "There's one."

Geonhak frowned as he had also looked up but there was nothing in the sky. Suddenly a big 'star'
crossed the sky, it was so fast that he wouldn't have seen it if he hadn't been looking there before.

"It's so pretty."

"Isn't it?" Dongju smiled. "Why don't you invite those kids to watch the rain with you? You already
know they come from there, so if you help them they will see them, and I'm sure they will love
hanging out with you."

"Yes! I'll invite them now," He climbed down from Geonhak's lap but turned around after hearing
the alpha clear his throat. "Uh, thank you, Dongju." He hugged the omega before running towards
the group of pup omegas.

"How did you know?"

"Huh?"

"How did you know a star was going to fall right there?"

Dongju stopped to think, then shook his head with a frown. "I don't know. I just knew."

"Dongju?" The omega grabbed his belly when he felt a cramp. "Are you okay?"

He shook his head again, "maybe it was the food, I ate too many raspberries." He hissed when the
alpha touched his forehead, and memories of his late teenage years came rushing to his mind.
"No... I think it's a heat."

"Yes, but it's... different. Your smell is not strong as it should, and, you are not producing slick?"

Dongju looked down, hiding further behind Geonhak's arm.

"Donju, it's fine, it's nothing to be ashamed of," Hwanwoong reassured him. "He just wants to
make sure that you'll be fine."

Seoho smiled at them, "I know as an alpha I can't really understand you, but know that I do care
and I'll try to do everything to make you feel better..." he laughed when Geonhak grunted at him,
"well, not everything."

"Is there anything you can give him for the pain and nausea?"

"Yes, sure. Here, just know that the spasms may continue and for those you'd have to help him,
okay? I don't want to intrude in your relationship or anything, but," he looked at Dongju as the
omega blushed, "if you need help it's okay to ask for it."

Hwanwoong could tell his friend was uncomfortable with the conversation so he intervened again,
"and if you want me to help you instead, I can do so too. That's what omegas should do, help each
other, okay?"

"Thank you guys," he nodded, quickly drinking the tea Seoho gave to him.

"You don't need to vomit?"

"No, now it's just on my lower belly." Dongju complained, climbing into Geonhak's bed and
wrapping himself on the thick blanket until it looked like a lump of sheets on the middle of the
matress.

Geonhak laughed, placing the medicine Seoho gave them on the table before sitting on a chair.
"What can I do to help?"

There was a long silence before the omega answered. "I'm scared, and... I don't know," he
uncovered his face, looking towards the ceiling, "this is my first time and... it's not even normal. I
grew up knowing what to do, knowing what the others did, but I don't even work like them."

"You know there's nothing wrong with it-"

"But there is. And why now? Why, if I won't be able to have babies anyway?"

Geonhak moved to sit beside him, speaking softly as he caressed his hair, "I don't know. All I
know is that you are going through it now, even if it's different, and that it will probably end in a
couple of days. So it is up to you to decide how you want to spend those days."

"Well," Dongju sat up with a pout, "I want to be here, with you. If... you are okay with it."

The alpha pulled him into his arms so they could rest, "of course I am, and whatever you need, let
me know."

It was past midnight when Dongju woke up, the cramps came back but this time it was impossible
to ignore them, and although he didn't feel the need to desperately mate as omegas did during
heats, he noticed that this time his scent was flooding the room.

"Hack... hackie... Geonhak!"

"What happened- did you slap me?"

"Yes, do I smell different?"

"Huh?"

"Do I smell any different? Stronger? Like heat?"

The alpha sat up as well and Dongju smiled as his eyes widened, "yes! Is that good? That's a good
sign, isn't it?"

"I think so," the omega laughed, "I mean, it hurts but that's gotta be a good thing."

"Do you want medicine? I can bring you some water just-"

"Wait." He stopped the older but soon retrieved his hand, "he... Seoho said that you could help-
me."

"Are you..."

"Sure? Yes. And this is not a symptom of the heat, this is me asking if you... would like to... you
know," he looked down at the blanket, and he was confident but at the same time it was unnerving.

Geonhak didn't answer with words but smiled, leaning in to kiss the omega.

Dongju was excited but he was sure it wasn't because of the heat, but because having Geonhak's
body on top of his really accelerated his heart. His heartbeat sped up even more as Geonhak's lips
went for the sensitive skin on his neck, and soon he could feel slick starting to form.

"You smell so so good," the alpha noticed, his voice low voice causing him to whine, and then that
sweet smile was back on Geonhak's eyes.

"What?" Dongju huffed, trying to cover Geonhak's happy eyes.

The alpha just pressed himself closer, hiding his face on Dongju's neck with a sigh.

"I just can't believe I get to be with you."

"Why?"

"Just... I never knew I needed someone until I saw you staring at the stars, and it's like for the first
time in my life my alpha insticts are awake and all they want is you."

Dongju felt like crying and he wanted to say similar things, but the ache on his belly was getting
torturous, "then take me."
And that was enough to have Geonhak take their clothes off. He had already seen the omega naked
when they first met, but, for starters, the circumstances were completely different. Also, despite the
dim illumination, he noticed that this time his body was clear of any bruise, his skin felt smoother,
and there was more weight in the right places.

But fFor Dongju it was the first time seeing the alpha. At most he had seen his muscly arms when
he cut wood for the pack, but never before had he seen his strong chest, let alone anything else.

"Can I?" Geonhak leaned in to whisper against his ear and, when Dongju said yes, he continued
kissing his neck. Dongju bit his own tongue as he felt the older's finger on his entrance, and he had
to gasp for air when he felt Geonhak's groan against his chest.

Of course he had done it for his own pleasure before, but it was completely different doing it
himself and having Geonhak do it. And he must have passed out for a second because the alpha
had three fingers inside already and the spasms on his belly seemed to ease every now and then.

"It... it works, Seoho was right."

Geonhak just looked at him, apparently unable to focus on anything else that wasn't preparing his
omega.

"Please hurry? I really want to know if the pain goes away."

"Just because of that reason?" he sneered.

Dongju huffed again, feeling his face blushing even more. "I- ah. Wait do that again."

And Geonhak was willing to do anything his omega asked him for, so he kept massaging against
that spot over and over again, his inner alpha proud of how Dongju trembled on his arms.

Soon Dongju's breath stopped and Geonhak felt warm cum against his hips. So he took his fingers
out and waited for the other to calm down, spreading kisses all over his neck and shoulders.

"Are you okay?"

Dongju looked at him as if he had just woken up, slowly realising where he was. "I think that was
the first time I... sorry," he covered his face, "that was too fast."

Geonhak laughed, but not at him. "That actually makes me happy, that I can make you feel good.
Let me know if you want me to continue," his hands started to trail the smooth skin of his
abdomen and legs.

"Please," he reached up to kiss the alpha and finally dared to touch him back.

"If it hurts, stop me."

Dongju nodded, but when the alpha started to press in, he immediately tried to cross his legs in an
attempt to keep him away. "Sorry, I- sorry I had a flashback."

Geonhak stared at his eyes for a moment, and all the excitement he had been feeling faded into
distress and worry. "We can stop, I- it's me, you know? We can-" he got up only enough to break
the contact, turning his head to a side for Dongju to see his neck.

"I know you won't harm me," he leaned in to kiss Geonhak's neck, knowing that it took a great
amount of trust for an alpha to bear his neck like that. "I know... I guess old habits are hard to die."
"Love," the alpha almost whimpered with pain on his heart. "Can we try something different?" he
moved them carefully, as to not scare the omega. Soon Dongju was straddling him, eyes wide and
skin flushed.

He couldn't help but laugh in adoration at Geonhak's thoughtfulness. And he knew this could work
because the alphas that had abused him would have never allowed him to even participate, they
would only take and leave. Leave pain and trauma, leave him disgusted. But this alpha, who was
currently literally beneath him, was willing to let him in charge.

"You are still gonna have to help me a bit," Dongju asked as now he was kissing the alpha's neck,
entranced by his skin's wooden earthy scent.

Geonhak supported his weight with one hand as he tried to allign his erection to the omega's
entrance. He watched mesmerized as Dongju pressed his eyes closed, taking him in little by little.

"One second, fuck dude why you so big for?"

The alpha laughed, throwing his head back as Dongju's walls tightened when he reached to hit his
chest. With a huf, the omega tried to raise himself up, and then down again. He did so until it no
longer stinged, moving now in small circles and proud that Geonhak had to cover his own mouth.

"This really is your first time, isn't it?"

"I told you I never had interest in anything related to mating before you."

Dongju smiled, starting to move faster as he felt the pressure of Geonhak's dick against his
previously aching abdomen. Seoho was right, it did take the pain away. He then made the mistake
of looking down, and his movements became erratic and random when he noticed his belly was
bulging.

Geonhak noticed this too and it didn't take too long for him to start thrusting upwards, his big
hands squeezing Dongju's soft thighs. "I can't-" Dongju cried, leaning forward as his legs were
getting tired and Geonhak took this as his cue to sit up, embracing the omega so he could lean
against him. He was too afraid to change possitions and risk triggering another flash back, so he
helped by basically moving Dongju up and down by his tiny waist.

Dongju wrapped his arms around the alpha's shoulders and silently cried as he came again, the
feeling too overwhelming as he felt Geonhak pulsating inside of him. His body became slack in
contrast to his abdomen which was still tightening and untightening, and soon he felt Geonhak
finishing inside of him.

The alpha gasped for air, his voice high pitched as he whimpered, and although it was nothing
Dongju could have expected from the alpha with deep voice, he loved every second of it. So much
that he feared he could get hard again, and only then he realised that he hadn't even touched
himself, nor the alpha had to because having him inside had been enough.

Geonhak took longer to recover, and as his breath slowly evened, he unwrapped Dongju from his
shoulders to look at his face.

"That- I think I almost passed out," they smiled at each other and the omega agreed with a nod.

"Me too."

"I can't believe we didn't do this before, it just feels so good."

Dongju rolled his eyes, kissing the older and trying to stand up but of course his legs gave away
and Geonhak had to hold him. "I feel like jelly."

"Jelly?"

"A dessert... fuck now I'm hungry."

Geonhak laughed, placing him carefully under the covers after cleaning his belly and legs with a
peace of fabric. "I can bring you food," he was going to get up but the younger stopped him,
pulling him under the covers with him.

"Stay with me."

"Okay."

Geonhak wrapped him in a hug and they tried to go to sleep, but every now and then one of them
would giggle and they ended up kissing while smiling in complicity.

The sun was already filling the room when they managed to get asleep, the pain of Dongju's
pseudo heat long forgotten.

"Yes?"

Youngjo smirked at him as soon as his scent reached him. "Hi, I came to bring you breakfast and
medicine, but I think he no longer need these herbs, does he?"

Geonhak stared at him blankly before closing the door behind him so Dongju wouldn't hear. "If
you must know... no."

"Oh dear friend, it was about time."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"That it was time both for you to get laid and it was also time that you guys started to live together-
"

"We still don't live together, and what do you mean with me-"

"You know what I mean, that will make you less grumpy, hopefully. And be honest, do you really
want him to go back to the white cabin alone now that he's been in your bed?"

"Isn't it too early in the morning to be talking about this? And... okay you might be right, but I still
have to talk with him about it."

Youngjo nodded, "of course. Here, he really needs to eat something and if you guys are still hungry
and he feels better, Keonhee will be in the kitchen today so you can ask him for anything."

"Thank you, beta," Geonhak smiled, "really, thank you for letting him in the pack."

"Anything for my family."

Chapter End Notes

Note: I've been updating on Sundays/Mondays, so if I miss a couple of days it's
because I'm no longer going to work home office so it may take me a few days to
adapt to that change but I'll try to complete the nextt chapter as soon as possible.
Chapter 5

Chapter 5

"Have you not been sleeping well?"

Dongju sighed with a pout, "I can't sleep at night, it's when I feel more awake."

Seoho nodded, writing something down before letting him go. Dongju walked towards the kitchens
to start his chores, soon joined by his boyfriend.

"How was it?"

The omega shrugged, "I don't know why you are worried, I am eating properly and I think I sleep
enough, I just can't do it at night."

Geonhak had insisted he was loosing weight and asked Seoho to check if there was anything
wrong, but Dongju himself didn't feel sick. "Couldn't he give you something to sleep?"

"I don't want to. I can sleep enough during the morning before my duties, you are not here
anyway."

"You know I have to hunt, Dongju."

"And you know I want to look at the stars. It's the only thing that gives me peace of mind."
Geonhak scoffed at that. "What?"

"So I don't?"

"You don't what?" the omega was feeling cranky and it took him a moment to understand, "I...
that's not what I meant."

The alpha paused whatever he was doing to look at him. "I am worried about your health and I also
want to spend time with you, but you are always outside during the night."

"I'm not cheating on you if that's what you are implying."

"I'm not!" Geonhak snapped at him, lowering his voice as others started to look at them. "I know
you have a special connection with the stars, but I thought we did so too."

And with that he left, not giving Dongju a second to process his words, let alone assure that he was
just as special for him. The other omegas stared at him in silence, so he hurried to finish his task to
leave earlier.

He understood that Geonhak was worried, yes, he was loosing weight. But it wasn't fair that the
alpha asked him to stop stargazing. Specially now that nights were shorter and he had less time to
admire them.

When it was time to eat and Geonhak didn't show up to the kitchen area, he felt a sorrow that could
only be compared to his life before joining the pack. The stars had been there and he still felt
incomplete until he found the alpha. "So dumb," he scolded himself and turned around with the
plate on his hands.

Hwanwoong looked at him with worry but was comforted by Seoho, "I'll go just to check on them,
okay?"

"Yes, please."

Seoho caught up with Dongju right when he arrived to Geonhak's cabin. "Dongju, I'll be here, I
checked the calendars and it's very likely that Geonhak is on pre-rut. So, if he turns agressive or
anything, yell for me."

The omega nodded in understandment, "so this is why he's been upset?"

"Most likely."

"Okay. Thank you."

Geonhak's cabin was silent, but the omega could tell there was something off. He heard a low
growl coming from the kitchen area so he stopped a few meters from its door. "Geonhak?"

"Leave."

Dongju felt his body shivering, but he refused to leave without solving this right now. "I'm sorry. I
really am. You are special to me, you are everything to me-" he had to lean against the wall as his
chest felt thight and his eyes filled with tears.

Geonhak was immediately by his side, holding his waist and the back of his neck to check he was
alright. Dongju noticed the alpha's smell was extremely strong, already on rut. But this alpha's eyes
were different than those he had seen in all the other alphas on rut. So he didn't feel afraid.

"Dongju, I'm sorry..."

"Let me help you-"

But Geonhak was already stepping back, "please, leave."

The omega frowned and shook his head, determined to stay by his alpha's side. But, not matter
how deep their connection was already, they were still unmated.

"Leave." Geonhak said one more time, and although he didn't use his alpha voice, it felt like that
for Dongju.

Without any word he cleaned the tears on his eyes and nodded. "Okay."

So he left.

"I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt you-" Seoho tried to defend his friend but the two omegas still
hissed at him.

"You don't understand, alpha." Hwanwoong stated, hugging his friend. At least the night was
approaching and the couple hoped the stars would bring some comfort to the omega in dispair.

It was past midnight when they left. He assured them he was feeling better and that stargazing
would help him, but it didn't. He was upset and not even the sky darkened by the new moon and
dawn could comfort him. The alpha that was courting him, who helped him through his first heat,
had just rejected him. Seoho tried to explain that Geonhak had always been alone through his ruts
and that maybe he was scared of loosing control, specially since they hadn't explicity talked about
it beforehand.

Dongju was willing to help despite that, he wanted to. But the alpha didn't.

"Stupid," he said for himself, sure that if he hadn't started the fight maybe Geonhak would have
asked him to stay.

Tears started to fall again from his tears as he was overwhelmed with intrusive thoughts, doubts,
fear, desperation and sadness. Just when everything seemed to be alright, this had to happen.

He crounched down, crying in silence as he clawed at his own palms but not even the pain seemed
to be distracting enough. Just when his broken voice managed to let out a raw scream, something
behind him resonated.

The omega barely managed to turn around as a small meteorite rock hit an old oak. It immediately
ignited its wood after tearing some of its huge branches. Dongju could only stare at it in shock as
everything nearby was engulfed in white fire.

"Dongju!" he snapped out of it after minutes when Youngjo grabbed him on his arms, making sure
they were far enough from the now orange fire.

"...me," he whispered but the beta didn't have time to ask him about it just then, going back to give
instructions as the pack tried to put the fire off.

"Dongju," he found Geonhak approaching him from the forest, and because of his facial expression
he knew the alpha had witnessed everything.

He stumbled back and fell on the grass. Flashbacks of that night on his previous pack filled his
mind, their screams sounded so vivid that he couldn't help but throw up on the ground. He shook
his head trying to calm himself but the heat from the fire was as unbearable as the one that burnt
his hands. Along with that pack.

"Dongju!" he could hear Geonhak calling his name but the ring on his ears was louder, and his
body felt so light as he tried to walk away that he knew he was about to pass out.

"It was me," he kneeled down and finally gave up.

"Geonhak needs to be here," Keonhee's voice was the first he recognized.

"Hyung-" he called, his mouth was dry and the alpha noticed he had woken up. He helped Dongju
sit up and Seoho gave him some water.

Hwanwoong was also there, but Geonhak wasn't.

"Youngjo... I have to tell him," he pressed his eyes close, wet with new tears. His omega friend
hopped on the bed with him and hugged him from behind, whispering sweet nothings while they
waited for the head beta.

"We are here."

"No-" he wanted to tell them not to bring Geonhak in but it was too late. "It wasn't my intention,
I'm really sorry, I promise you I didn't mean to," he looked at his alpha with regret.

"Dongju, what were you doing there?" Youngjo intervened; after all he had called for him.
"I have to leave."

Several of them started to object about it immediately, specially Hwanwoong who hugged him
tighter and called him crazy, refusing to let him go.

"Geonhak... it was me. You saw it too, right?"

The alpha finally looked at him, his eyes as teary as the omega's. "No," and everyone could tell it
was a lie for it had sounded more like a question.

Dongju felt his heart shattering after hearing fear on his deep voice.

"You set the oak on fire?" Youngjo questioned.

"I did."

"That's not true!" Geonhak stepped in.

"But I did! It smellt like raspberries!" he started sobbing in pain. "It was my fault," Hwanwoong
held him as his body trembled.

"It was an accident," the alpha sat in front of him, his scent still too strong as his rut was far from
over. Youngjo placed a hand on his shoulder, silently asking for an explanation. "He... his scent
smells like strawberries, and that meteor did too. That's what the space smells like, it could be a
coincidence-"

"It wasn't." Dongju swallowed his grief to explain, "the fire was white, just like the one on that
killed my previous pack. That's what it smelled like." Everyone remained in silence, Geonhak
silently begging Dongju to stop. "That's why they were afraid of my family, because they could
control stars."

Youngjo sighed, "even if it is what happened, it wasn't on purpose. I don't believe it was your fault,
Dongju, it was your pain."

Hwanwoong ran to Keonhee's arms so Geonhak could pull the omega to his lap. "But I still... killed
them."

"Yes, the fire killed them, but you didn't even know you could control stars until now, right?"
Seoho insisted, "you were in distress, because he abused you, you weren't even concious. And
now..."

No one had to mention it as all knew and it was almost irrelevant at the moment. But Geonhak
knew this happened because he hadn't allowed the omega to stay for the first night of his rut.

"Look," Youngjo grabbed his hand, "it was an accident. And, no one got hurt last night, okay? I'm
not letting you leave us, so you are going to have to learn to control it, but leaving is not an option.
Do you understand?"

Dongju looked up at him through his wet eyelashes before nodding.

Everyone sighed in relief, specially Geonhak, who embraced him in a reassuring hug. A promise
that he wanted him to stay by his side.

That night Geonhak took Dongju to the white cabin as his was still soaked in his rut's scent. The
others offered to stay with the omega instead since Geonhak was still on rut but the alpha strongly
declined.

"If I somehow started this, I want to figure it out so it doesn't happen again."

"But, right now? Do you think it's a really good idea?" Keonhee questioned distrustful.

"Babe," the head beta whispered with a smile, taking Keonhee's hand on his, "they'll solve it. I trust
Geonhak."

His mate's expression softened at that, stepping back to let the couple get into the cabin after
saying goodbye.

"Are you sure this is safe? What if I loose control again?"

"I'll help you calm down-"

"What if it happens again while I'm asleep? The first time I was unconcious, what if I accidentally
call a star and it hurts you? What would I do?"

The alpha sat down with a sad smile, "I can't say that it won't because I would be lying, but I know
you have no real intentions on hurting me."

"Neither I did towards the pack."

"But I think it might have to do with the trauma you endured in that place. All that people knew
what was happening to you and they turned a blind eye."

The omega pouted, trying not to think about that day.

They slowly made their way to the kitchen and Xion hopped on a chair, his eyes fixed on the floor.

"Last night... I wasn't angry at you. I was upset with myself, I think that's why it hit the tree behind
me."

Geonhak kissed his forehead softly and started preparing food as the omega got lost in thought. He
was at ease with that because his raspberry smell was subtle, calm.

They ate in silence but the alpha made sure to give the other gentle cares every now and then,
either touching his hand, arm, helping him with his meal or smiling at him. After that they sat on
the sofa, it was late but not even Geonhak felt sleepy, so he just held the other close in a side hug.

"Are you scared of me?"

"Not at all. If anything, I am amazed."

"That I can cause a natural disaster?"

"No... and yes. Back then when we had that night out with the pups, I meant it when I said I saw
stars in your eyes. You really come from them and, with or without powers, I could see your
connection with them. And you being passionate about it showed me how pure your intentions are.
You didn't mean to hurt them."

"But-"

"I think the stars are protecting you."

"What about last night?"

"They were trying to tell you something. That, you'll have to figure it out, but I believe that you can
learn to control it."

Xion hid his face on the alpha's neck, breathing on the strong scent and only then remembered that
the other was on rut. "How are you in control?"

The older frowned for a moment, "you mean with my rut? I don't know... my wolf always had
different priorities and right now it's to keep you calm until we figure it out."

Now Dongju felt a bit ashamed at his previous drama, but he couldn't help feel that way back then
when Geonhak pushed him away. At that moment he was happy to offer his help, but now he was
afraid. "I am scared that... that if we sleep together I'll get a flashback or nightmare like when I was
on heat and... then I'll call a star."

Geonhak looked at him but smiled, "I trust you, Dongju. We'll do it again when you feel
comfortable with it, and I mean it when I say that right now your scent is more than enough for
me."

"What if we..." he trailed off, hesitant for a second, but the alpha waited patiently for him to
organize his ideas. "I would like to... get mating bites."

The alpha gasped, his own heart speeding up at the concept of becoming forever mated with
Dongju. He couldn't help but laugh with joy, "you mean it?"

The omega nodded enthusiastically, "yes! I want to, do you?"

"Of course I want that, and my wolf has wanted to since I first saw you. I-" he hugged Dongju
against his chest, "I want to."

"Not right now, tho."

Geonhak shook his head, "no, no of course. Also, we need to talk with Youngjo first because he is
trying to reintroduce some costumes into our pack and we need the pack's blessing."

Dongju cringed at that, would they agree? Would the whole pack agree to have a dangerous wolf
living among them, among their pups and legacy?

The alpha stopped his trail of thought by pulling him towards his lap, "I promise they will accept."

"How can you be sure?"

"I have hope. Also Youngjo forbid you from leaving, remember?" he laughed against Dongju's
neck, "so you are stuck with me now."

"Okay," Donju smiled in relief.

Dongju was playing in the middle of the field with some pups when he heard screams calling them.
He walked them back, holding the smaller ones closer as he wasn't sure what was going on.
Everyone was walking towards the stage, keeping a distance as most alphas were just now coming
back from hunting.

He left the pups with their parents before trying to get closer, but Geonhak found him first.

"Dongju."

"What is happening?" he held the alpha's hand, still trying to walk closer.

"Strangers approached the village, we have to interrogate them before letting them in."

It was then that he noticed Youngjo, Seoho and Hwanwoong in front of the stage, people waiting
for them to bring the outsiders.

Once they were by their side Geonhak spoke, "where are they?"

"There was an alpha, you know we have to separate them from the omega in case he is forcing him
to come here and in order to interrogate them, but that's not the problem." Youngjo looked at
Dongju with an undecipherable expresion. "We are going to bring the omega but, Dongju, please
refrain from saying anything until we finish. Okay?"

"Why?"

"Why do you ask for him that? Who is this people?" Geonhak frowned , having ended his rut only
two days ago.

"Please, Geonhak. Calm down, okay? Everything is going to be alright, I just know it." Youngjo
said directly to Dongju, and the omega trusted the beta.

Just like the day he arrived to the pack, Geonhak was asked to step forward, standing on the
platform as Keonhee brought a boy towards him.

"Hwanwoong," Dongju gasped on his friend's embrace, "that's... is that..."

"Please stay here."

"You knew?"

Hwanwoong shook his head, hugging him closer as the boy got on the stage. "I was only told that
you knew this person."

Dongju covered his mouth with both hands, trying hard not to cry and not knowing how to react as
he was in complete awe. Geonhak asked the omega to stand in front of him and, as soon as he
could smell him, he knew this was Dongju's brother. He had the same raspberry scent.

"Our pack's safety is our priority, that's why we ask you to go through this and this alpha will only
ask the needed questions before we decide if you can be here or not. Whatever you ask for after it,
will be discussed in private."

"Yes," Dongju felt his insides twisting at hearing his brother's now deeper voice for the first time
in so so many years.
He could also see hesitance when Geonhak had to wrap his arms around his thin frame, as the
couple made eye contact for a a few seconds. Dongmyeon's eyes were closed now. "What is your
name?"

"Dongmyeon."

"Why are you here?"

"I saw a star falling from the sky. I came looking for my family."

Youngjo nodded, indicating Geonhak to keep going. Anyone could tell they suffered too from
making the omega go through this, but they also understood the packs safety came first. "Who is
that alpha?"

"My mate."

"Is he forcing you to something? Would you like to be protected from him?"

"No, we are true mates. We met more than fifteen years ago. He's been protecting me since me and
my mom were kicked out of our old pack."

"Youngjo," Geonhak basically pleaded to the beta, asking to end the interrogatory as he no longer
wanted to inforce his alpha voice on this omega. He was eager to let him meet his brother.

"Come here," the beta reached for Dongmyeon's hand to help him get down from the stage. "Your
brother is here."

"Geonhak," he murmured as his eyes filled with tears. Hwanwoong nodded and, after helping him
sit down, he went to get the alpha before Youngjo could find him in the crowd.

The alpha was soon hugging him close and whispering sweet nothings on ears while the others
explained to Dongmyeon how Dongju got there. "It is him."

He gasped when he noticed his twin coming towards him. "Dongju..." There was now a tall alpha
with him, holding his hand and Dongju almost laughs at how he hid a bit behind Dongmyeon.
"Brother."

"Hi," Dongju smiled, standing up while holding Geonhak's hand. Both had been hurt but they were
happy to know that they had also found someone while they couldn't be together.

"Hi," Dongmyeon pulled him into a hug and Dongju clung from him immediately, crying against
his neck as the taller told him how much he had missed him. "I really tried to go back for you,
several times, but mom said not to. She said you would be fine but... I'm sorry."

Dongju shook his head, not wanting to talk about the past, more than eager to know about his
brother and to introduce him to his alpha. Geonhak seemed to know what he was thinking as he
suggested they move to the white cabin while dinner was ready.

Harin and Geonhak stood outside as the twins were catching up inside, both considered it would be
better if their conversation was private.

"So... I see you are also true mates," Harin started, and he ended up laughing at Geonhak's
expression. "Did you really not know?"

"What?"

"You guys are obviously fated mates. Okay, look... did you ever had a partner before him? Did you
spend any heat with someone? Did any scent caught your attention before?" Geonhak shook his
head to all the questions. "These are some of the signs, they are slight. People usually thinks it's
going to be a great connection, like love at first sight, or that you get matching birth marks and all
those myths."

"So... how can you tell?"

"Because of the way he orbits towards you, and the way you look at him. That's something special,
and you haven't know each other for that long? That's a strong connection, simply soulmates."

Inside the cabin the twins were just holding each other in a hug on the sofa, too overwhelmed to
speak more than a few sentences every other minute.

"I did something horrible, Dongmyeon." The taller frowned, giving his brother time to gather his
thoughts, but he could tell right away that it was something really heavy for Dongju.

"You can tell me," he promised, both jumping slightly when the alphas made their way in.
Geonhak read the situation right away, knowing by Dongju's facial expressions and scent that he
was stressed and feeling guilty. He silently sat behind the omega, hugging his waist while scenting
the back of his head with his nose.

Harin also sat behind his own mate.

"I accidentally... burned the village."

Dongmyeon let out a sigh but he didn't seem really surprised. "I feared so, we went to look for you
there some time ago, but it was gone." Dongju couldn't help but cry, no matter how many times he
tried to convince himself that it had been an accident. His brother seemed to understand what he
felt, though. "They knew the risks of keeping you, they feared what they couldn't understand, and
hence tried to control you... I can only imagine what they did to you."

The omega just leaned backwards, letting Geonhak hold him closer. "I will still carry that with
me," he shrugged, "but I also know it wasn't my fault."

"And you can learn to control it, I'll help you," the older promised with a smile, "but it's good to
know you already have more then enough help," he smirked at Geonhak.

Harin laughed slightly, "having a mate can help them control their emotions and focus their
abilities better", he explained to the other alpha. "It's getting late and we walked a long distance, is
there a place where we could stay?"

"You can stay in this cabin," Geonhak stood up carefully, letting the tired omega put his weight on
him, "Dongju and I will move to mine so you can keep this one, right?"

Dongju nodded happily, happy to have his brother in the same pack but also excited that Geonhak
finally asked him to move into his cabin with him. So they said their goodbyes and, after a long
moment where the twins wouldn't let go of their hug, they made their way to Geonhak's cabin.

The alpha reached for Dongju's hand and pulled him in the direction of the hotsprings instead,
which anyway wasn't too far from their soon to be shared cabin. "What?"

"Why are we here?" Dongju asked with curiosity, kneeling close a warm stream to touch the water.

"I thought you would like to stargaze for a moment, and it's nice and warm here."

The omega pushed him playfully, "wanna swim?"

Geonhak stood firm on his place as the omega tried to push him into the water, laughing slightly,
"actually, yes."

"Oh, really?" Dongju was surpised because they had never swum together, let alone at night.

"Come on, let's celebrate your brother and his mate are joining our pack. Let's celebrate that there
is a way for you to control your powers, and that we are moving in together."

Dongju felt shy all of a sudden, his belly waming up only at the thought of what it implied. They
had obviously talked about mating, he himself had asked the alpha to do so, but knowing now that
it would also help him avoid setting another place in fire, made him even more impatient.

He carefully folded his clothes and placed them on top of Geonhak's before joining the alpha. The
water was really warm and he could feel the remaining tension scape from his muscles. Now that
his brother was here there was nothing else on the back of his head, no more unsolved matters to
bother him.

He got closer to the alpha and turned around, resting his back on Geonhak's strong chest. "For the
first time in my life I feel peace. Problems no longer seem impossible, or that big."

Geonhak gasped, feeling relief as well. Knowing that the person he cared for the most felt that way
was one of the biggest reassurances for him that maybe he everything would be alright from now
on. So he hugged the omega, holding him with fondness and affection.

"My love," he whispered, pressing his nose against Dongju's soft neck.

"My alpha," Dongju tilted his head to give the other more access to his neck and collar bone so he
could finally get his mating bite.
