About Photos

Bląg Hi, everyone!Who's yourfavourite

sailing star? Mine is Laura Dekker. I think she's
amazing! As a child, she didn't use to go hiking or camping.
Laura used to sail with her parents, so she was already brilliant by the
time she was 16 years old. Thaťs when she completed her famousjourney
around the world alone!
-

The journey was often very difficult for Laura. Sometimes there were dangerous
storms, and sometimes there was no wind at all and her boat didn't move. During
these times, she used to do her schoolwork online! She missed her family and
friends, but she didn't think about giving up.
Laura recorded a lot of Shon videos on her boat, Guppy, during her journey. When
she returned, she made a film. Iłs name is Maidentrip and I love ił! Ił shows
us how Laura learned to believe in herself, find answers to problems on
her own and respect nature. Most important of all, Laura's story
teaches us neverto give up on our dreams.

Last summer, I visited Greece with

my parents and brother. We flew from
London to Athens, and then we got on a boat to Mykonos. Ił was a beautiful
sunny day, and we were all happy to be on holiday.
Travelling on the boat was fun. After about four and a half hours, the boat
stopped at an island and we got off but we couldn't find the bus to our hotel!
-

While we were waiting, my mum went to ask about the bus. When she came
back, she looked confused. "What happened? Who did you talk to?” my dad
asked. "We are on the wrong island", Mum said. ”Where are we?”we asked.
"We are on Tinos. We got off the boat on the wrong island. We have to get on
the next boat to go to the right island”, Mum said.
We spent the day walking around the town. We bought some souvenirs, took
selfies and ate some delicious Greek food. We liked Tinos a lot. In the evening,
we caught the boat to Mykonos. We weren't upset about our mistake. In fact,
we were _pleasedthat we saw another Greek island!
