MODULE 2 ASSIGNMENT
ARTICLE: The role of cultural practices in the emergence of modern human intelligence
1. Summary (Highlight of the Issue)
- Involvement in cultural practices develop the intelligence and awareness of humans, and refusing to
participate in these cultural practices may lead to slower development of the brain and its intellect.
2. Applications to Life
- People may start valuing and participating in their own cultural practices more when they found out in this
article that involving yourself more with culture makes you more self-aware and intelligent in all aspects.
3. Sample Situation
- Kids in movies and documentaries that were taught the practice of their own culture are usually more
intelligent and self-aware about their environment.
4. Insights
- Parents and the other branches of society are very crucial in developing cultural awareness and values within
humans because not only does it make us aware of who we are, but also develop values, judgments, and
intelligence on the environment that we are living in.
MODULE 4 ASSIGNMENT
VIDEO CLIP WATCHED: The future of technology and Humanity: a provocative film by Futurist Speaker Gerd
Leonhard
5. Summary of the video (Highlight of the Issue)
- Technology is an undeniable part of our life and it may even converge with the human body in the near
future. This could result to both positive and negative effects such as progressive human advancement,
compromised data privacy, and technology developing its own consciousness which might turn against
humans someday.
6. Applications to Life
- The video clip wants us to warn about over-reliance to artificial intelligence and giving out too much data on
the internet which could be exploited by criminals. People would apply this warning in life by refraining from
posting too much information on the internet, and being too reliant on A.I that limits their abilities as a
human.
7. Sample Situation
- Students nowadays rely more on ChatGPT, an A.I model designed to cater the questions and needs of the
students who are too lazy to do their school works. This situation just shows how over-reliant humans can be
on technology and how it hinders human intellectual development.
8. Insights
- Technology is good and helpful, but only in moderate use. Technology may be projected to develop its own
consciousness and emotional intelligence in the near future thanks to all the data that we give out on the
internet, but nothing can replace the awareness, emotional intelligence, and genuineness of humans.
