Male Reproductive System

The male reproductive system produces sperm in the testes. Sperm travel from the testes through the epididymis where they are stored, then through the vas deferens where fluid is added from the seminal vesicles, prostate, and Cowper's glands. This forms semen, which is ejaculated through the urethra during orgasm. The female reproductive system produces eggs in the ovaries. During ovulation, an egg is released into the fallopian tubes and travels to the uterus. If not fertilized, it is shed with the uterine lining during menstruation. Hormones like estrogen and progesterone trigger puberty and the development of secondary sex characteristics in both males and females.
