- This package includes REX 4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds.

- It is recommended that you uninstall ANY other version of REX 4 Texture Direct, REX Soft
Clouds and the service packs associated with these products BEFORE installing this package.
- This product is NOT compatible with Windows XP.
- This product requires .NET Framework 4.5 or greater and SQL Server Express 2012 Local
Databases to be installed on your computer.
- The folder “Extras” contains .NET Framework 4.5.2, SQL Databases and a tool called “.NET
Setup Verifier”. These files have been included for your convenience in case you need them
and were up-to-date at the time this package was created (April 2015).
- The verifier tool can be used to check which versions of .NET Framework are installed on
your computer and whether they have been installed properly.
- The SQL Local Databases must be installed according to your operating system architecture.
Use the 32-Bit database package for 32-Bit operating systems. Use the 64-Bit database
package for 64-Bit operating systems.
- For a trouble-free user experience, avoid installing the product in your “Program Files” or
“Program Files (x86)” folders!

NOTE: Soft Clouds texture sets can be found under the tab Low Level Clouds in Clouds/Effects
section.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ATI/AMD USERS

Some users who use ATI/AMD graphics card have reported that they cannot get REX 4 Texture
Direct to work on their systems even though they have .NET Framework 4.5 and SQL Local
Databases properly installed on their computers. I have made some research into the issue and it
appears that some programs ATI/AMD customers use on their computers are the major
offenders for this. Below is a short list of these programs:

- Catalyst Control Center / Vision Control Center

- MOM.exe (a component of Catalyst/Vision Control Center)
- RadeonPro

Based on MY experience, REX 4 Texture Direct still works with the Catalyst Control Center and
MOM.exe working in the background, but RadeonPro is definitely an offender and causes
problems with REX 4 Texture Direct in most cases. Remember that YOUR mileage may vary
depending on your system configuration. If you encounter such issues with the programs listed
above, quit them before running REX 4 Texture Direct and re-run them after you have finished
using REX 4 Texture Direct. Another option that works for RadeonPro according to my experience
is enabling the option “Disable API monitoring for programs not listed in my profiles list” in the
Advanced Settings section of RadeonPro. This should let you run REX 4 Texture Direct without
having to shut RadeonPro down before using it.
