    The effects and cause of poverty on children

    According to the national center for children in poverty, 385 million children

    around the world experience poverty and live in substandard conditions. In fact, the rate

    of children in this situation has always been high and is still increasing even though

    many efforts have been made over time. Children are heavily suffering from poverty,

    which is a hard condition to escape. It causes them long-lasting damage that is hard to

    recover from. In consideration of this, poverty has many negative consequences on

    children, which make them grow up in dire straits and develop negative consequences

    on children, which make them grow up in dire straits and develop behaviors that are

    detrimental to the interests of society.

    One of the main effects is mental illness. Most of them suffer from a high level of

    stress, depression, and anxiety at a very early age which can be developed over the

    years. When children grow up poor, they are stressed about how they can afford their

    needs and live a decent life. According to this logic, a high level of stress leads to

    feelings of anxiety and depression. Those mental disorders may grow and worsen while

    reaching a certain age in adulthood. Sometimes, those factors can even lead children to

    follow the wrong path and have suicidal thoughts. This self-destructive idea can be

    common among children who suffer from financial issues. They think that killing

    themselves can also kill their tragic feelings.

    Additionally, delinquency is another effect of poverty. Children are more likely to

    turn to the criminal world since this surrounding facilitates getting a lot of money without

    making efforts like stealing from stores and banks, which make them play in the danger

    zone. Furthermore, there are parents who force their children to go out and search for

    illegal sources of money without considering the risk they are exposing their kids to.

    Also, they may join gangs at an early age. They start receiving orders from their bosses

    such as drug dealing, burglary or even killing people to get money

    Of course, the dire consequences of poverty on children’s souls are bad and

    cruel, causing them to suffer in life for a long time. Every issue has a reason, and the

    causes of childhood poverty are due to their background and the life they are living, and

    the poverty of their parents is a reason.

    One of the main causes of poverty among children is lack of education. When

    children are born to poor parents, they don’t have a good opportunity to access school.

    Lack of education is a factor with a major role in reaching the state of poverty, especially

    since education is the main door to obtaining a job, and it also plays a role in obtaining

    greater economic resources that allow the family to secure the basic requirements of

    life. According to UNESCO, 171 million people can be protected from extreme poverty

    when they acquire basic reading skills only. Increased education rates, in turn, reduce

    the poverty rate in the world by half.

    One of the various factors that cause children’s poverty is the vicious cycle of

    poverty itself. Children growing in poverty condition are entangled in the financial

    situation of their parents. They don’t choose their parents, but their parents choose to

    have kids even if they can’t guarantee them a good standard of living. Kids are

    dependent on their guardians and therefore can’t pill themselves out of poverty because

    of their young age and lack of resources. In most cases, children who are raised in poor

    environments are more likely to become poor parents themselves. That being said, to

    break the cycle of poverty, children should take their path at some point by getting

    access to education.

    All in all, poverty in children is one of the social issues that has plenty of

    negative effects and causes. It is not only a social issue but a matter of all

    humanity. Of course, it's heartbreaking to see youngsters lose their futures due to

    poverty, which can lead to psychological issues like worry and despair. These

    feelings generate the idea of suicide or even they can also follow the path of

    delinquency. One of the biggest reasons for children’s poverty is that they were

    born in a poor environment. If the parents are poor, the child will certainly grow

    up in poor surroundings. Personally, I think that the government should find some

    solution to decrease the number of poverties like creating some job opportunity

    or by raising the minimum wage in existing jobs. In general, there are many

    solutions that we can do to decrease the number of poverty on children.
