`To our beloved Principal, Shirley C.

Agsunod, Ma’am, to our respected faculty,

sirs/ma’ams, staff, friends, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant day.

Teachers really play an important role in the education and life of the students. As the

saying goes, “Teachers are our second parents.” They are the ones who impart knowledge to

us, and mold us to be the best person we can be. They also inspire us. They share some of their

experiences which will motivate us. They are also the ones who encourage us to strive harder

and maximize our strengths to reach our full potential. They teach us to get out of any bad

situation in life through wisdom and patience.

A teacher helps you not just to be a better person, but to be the best version of yourself.

This doesn’t only apply to academics, but also socially; on how you treat others and how you

socialize. They guide you and mold you not just to gain knowledge, but also to acquire lifetime

skills. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam quoted, “The purpose of education is to make good human beings

with skill and expertise. Enlightened human beings can be created by teachers.”

A teacher also has many important roles not just in the education of students, but also

in the society and country. As the saying goes, “education is the key to success.” The

development and growth of people, society, and country, depends on the quality of education,

which is given only by a good teacher.

As I end my speech, I want to share a mnemonic that I made. Teachers TEACH. T stands

for train. Teachers train us as early as 4 years old when we enter kindergarten. Although, our

kindergarten teachers train us to properly hold our pencils, draw strokes, and the like. E stands

for encourage. Teachers encourage us. Like I said earlier, they encourage us to strive harder and

maximize our strengths to reach our full potential. Some teachers even push us to get out of

our comfort zones. They encourage us to try new things for they know that these new things

will benefit us in the long run. A stands for assure. Teachers assure us that making mistakes is

not bad because this is where we learn the most. They have an unmeasurable patience and

understanding that even if sometimes, we are the source of their headaches and stress, they

still do their best to provide us what we need in school. C stands for correct. Aside from

assuring us that it is okay to make mistakes, it doesn't end there because they correct us, or
they instruct and guide us on what we need to do to fix the mistake or lessen the damage that

our mistake has caused. Lastly, H stands for hear. Teachers do not only provide, but they also

accept. They hear not just their students’ concerns, but also the concerns of parents as well as

their fellow teachers. Again, teachers TEACH. They train, encourage, assure, correct, and hear.

Today, we celebrate for them, and with them. To the supporters of our dreams, to our

encouragers, to our mentors, to our molders, to our trainers, and to our second parents, Happy

Teachers’ Day. We will truly be grateful to you always. Thank you, and God bless.
