    Young unemployment continues toi m p e d e m e a n i n g f u l e c o n o m i c g r o w t h d u e


    t o a mismatch between job requirements and skill sets, alack of knowledge and skill
    development, and workexperience. The Department of Education's (DepEd) K – 12
    Program has been created to address the issue.Students have an advantage in that they
    can startdeveloping functional abilities in high school throughthe two additional years of
    senior high school. Thesetwo years were given to give students enough time tounderstand
    concepts and skills, foster lifelong learners,and prepare graduates for tertiary education,
    middle-l e v e l s k i l l d e v e l o p m e n t , e m p l o y m e n t ,
    a n d entrepreneurship. This will be the time for them tohone the necessary skills.
