Lesson Plan in English 7

I. Learning Outcomes
Through a PowerPoint presentation within 60-minute period, the Grade 7
students can do the following with75% accuracy:
a) Identify common idioms and their meanings
b) Show appreciation by illustrating the chosen idiom
c) Construct a four-panel comic strip using common idioms

Activity
The class will be divided into 3 teams and each team will take turns
performing and guessing idioms. The performing team acts out the idiom
using only gestures, body language, and facial expressions, without
speaking.
Analysis
After the students play the game, the teacher will then now ask:
 How was the activity?
 What phrase is hard to guess?
As the students express their opinions and describe what is with today's
lesson, "Idioms" the teacher will now discuss the learning outcomes with
the students.
Abstraction
The teacher will focus now on the lesson.

Idioms
An idiom is a word, phrase, or expression that has a different connotation
from the literal meaning of the individual words.
Below is a list of common idiomatic expressions.

Application
The teacher will now give assessment to test if students already get the
lesson.
Directions: Make a four-panel comic strip about two friends who have not
seen each other for a long time use at least five idiomatic expressions
from the box.
all in all take it easy for good
that's tight stay on track in a hurry
since day one what's up on time

Assignment:
On a long bond paper, you will select an idiom and create an
illustration that visually represents the literal meaning of the idiom. You
should provide a written explanation of the real meaning of the idiom.
