ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY: Nationwide Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity:
DepEd’s 236,000 Trees – A Christmas Gift for the
Children
DATE: December 6, 2023 – Wednesday
VENUE: Saub Integrated School
PARTICIPANTS: School Head, Teachers, Representative, and Learners
OBJECTIVES:  To plant 236,000 trees across the country
simultaneously;
 To create a lasting impact on the environment;
 To provide a Christmas gift for the children;
 To promote sustainability, raise awareness about
the importance of trees, and involve the
community in environmental protection efforts.

ACTIVITY HIGHLIGHTS:  Participated by School Head, Teacher,


Representative and Learner
 Planting trees with tree guard inside school
campus
 Educational program for children, teaching them
about the importance of planting trees and how to
care for them.

PROBLEM(S) ENCOUNTERED ISSUE: Coordination of the projects across


different location
CONCERN: Ensuring that all the necessary resources
such as seedlings, tools and manpower were available
ISSUE: Weather system
CONCERN: Experienced heavy rainfall which could
affect the survival rate of the planted trees

SOLUTION(S) TO THE  To address the coordination challenge, the project


ENCOUNTERED PROBLEMS team established a centralized management
system, with a dedicated team to oversee the
planning and execution of the project
 To mitigate the impact of the weather condition, the
project team carefully selected tree species and
planting sites that were suitable for the local
climate and also implement proper planting
techniques to ensure the survival rate of the trees.

OUTPUT:  The project was a resounding success, with a total
of 236,000 trees planted across the country
 The simultaneous tree planting event created a
sense of unity and purpose, with people from all
walks of life coming together to make a difference.
 The project also received widespread media
coverage, raising awareness about the importance
of environmental protection and sustainability
 The educational programs for children were well-
received.
 Schools have expressed their intention to continue
with their environmental protection efforts for
future initiatives to further promote sustainability
and environmental protection.
