LESSON

“Social thinking” or thinking socially refers to a process we all go through

in our mind as we try to make sense of our own and others' thoughts,
feelings, and intentions in context, whether we are co-existing, actively
interacting, or figuring out what is happening from a distance (e.g., media,
literature, etc.).

Characteristic and Nature of Social Thinker:

Passionate
You can count on Filipino outsourced workers to wake up with
enthusiasm to face another day at work or do their work exceptionally well
because they have this inner drive to not just be average
Respectful
Filipinos have been taught to be respectful the day they learned to speak
their first words. Of course, Filipino sales representatives won’t
say po or opo while conversing with foreigners, either on the other end of
the line or personally, but you sense respect in the way they speak with
sincerity, how they give compliments, and how they actively listen to what
you’re saying or asking.

Ethic
We are hardworking people to the point that we are willing to work almost
the whole day just to feed our families. That's how Filipinos are.

Camaraderie
Present among close friends and relatives. Gone were the days when you will
see people helping others if they don’t know each other.

Honesty
Filipino is also known for honesty they would prefer hard for an honest day’s
pay than to find an easier way like stealing or cheating.

Bayanihan
The term bayanihan itself literally means “being in a bayan”, which refers to
the spirit of communal unity, work and cooperation to achieve a particular
goal.

Compassionate
A Filipino of being sympathetic to other even if the person is a stranger.

Flexible
The ability of Filipinos to ride on or adjust to the norms of other group to
attain smooth and harmonious relationship.

Optimistic
Person thinks the best possible thing will happen, and hopes for it even if
it's not likely, someone who's a tad too confident this way.

Systemic
Refers to something that is spread throughout, affecting a group or system,
such as a body, economy, market or society as a whole.

Adaptability
Means one is able to quickly respond to changing trends, innovation,
destabilization, industry shifts, and so forth. This ability to adjust or shift
makes an employee nimble and that is important because most industries
today are in some state of flux.
Intelligence
The ability to apply knowledge to manipulate one's environment or to think
abstractly as measured by objective criteria.

Nationalism
a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and
placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as
opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups

Patriotism
Love for or devotion to one's country.

What is the form and function of a Filipino Social Science? Why do we need
to make athe systematic study of society more atttuned to the Filipino? More
than an intellectual “selfie” of what we do here in the Philippine acadamic
scene, the struggle for a Filipino-led acadamic social scinece is about
believing in the idea that the Filipino has something to offer to global study
of society. This means we do not only copy or implement established models
from the west, but we also actively theorize based on our own set of realities
and experience.

Filipinos has one of the traits in the world. Although they have colonized by
sevral countries, core value from their ancestors remained intact and is still
applied up to this time.
