Descriptive Title:
Legal aspects affecting the Practice of
Architecture
Course Description:

The course deals with the laws, rules and regulations, and the
provisions on the practice of Architecture that the practitioner may apply
in the development of plans within the policy of securing public welfare,
health, property, and life within the principles of sound environmental
planning and within the standards of site selection, construction methods,
materials, and spaces, etc. That at the end the student may be able to
understand the ethical values of all the prevailing laws of land, PH.

INTRODUCTION
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Identify the laws relative to its role in the hierarchy of laws whether a provision from the
Constitution, national law, special law, local statute, or a subdivision, an LOI, MOA, EO, etc.
2. Determine the ethical and moral value of the knowledge of the different laws, rules and
provisions that may affect an architect’s practice, either in the design, structure or in the
profession.
3. Use building laws in planning when applicable so that legal consequences may not arise
or occur in the period of the practice or on/in the project.
4. Apply all laws relative to the practice so that remedies for noncompliance do not have to
be resorted to which the government always makes available to the practitioner.

ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT refers to the systematic


administration of activities which provide for segregation at source,
segregated transportation, storage, transfer, processing, treatment, and
disposal of solid waste and all other waste management activities which
do not harm the environment.
