AMONG US FAN-MADE VTUBER RIG - Here’s how to use it!

Hi! I’m Kris, you can find me @imkrisyim on Twitter, Instagram, and Twitch! I made this
sample Among Us Vtuber rig for fun, and if you stream a lot of Among Us and you’re
curious about Virtual Streamers/Virtual Youtubers, you’re welcome to try this out!
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with the Among Us team.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Included in this package are a bunch of files! Here’s a

quick rundown:
- The .PSD files are the Photoshop files that I used to make the
assets (you don’t need to touch these)
- The .CMO3 file is the Live2D project file. You’re free to mess around
with the rig if you know how to use Live2D (but you don’t need to
touch this)
- The .JSON and .MOC3 files are the files you’re gonna need! This is
the exported rig (you’re face-tracking program is gonna look for
these)
- IMPORTANT: in the AmongUsLive2D.2048 folder is the TEXTURE
FILE that includes all the body parts for your rig! The only required
.PNG is the one named texture_00.png (all the others I included
as a bonus, so you can swap out to the color of your choice)

2. Get a face-tracking program! If you already know how to

use PrprLive, Facerig, or VTube Studio, you can pretty
much skip to the end. In this guide, I’ll tell you to get
PrprLive on Steam, because it’s free! It’s totally free!

3. Once you open PrprLive, you might get an animated

background. You’re gonna want to disable the animated
background in the bottom left corner.
4. Then, select the first icon from the menu and load up
your VTuber rig (make sure you know where you put
your files!)
5. Once it’s loaded, you can use the controls shown
on-screen to move it around and size it
(Alt Drag, and Alt Scroll)

6. You might have to go into Face Capture Settings and

change it from “Cursor” to “Face Capture” (oh yeah,
you’re gonna need a webcam!)
7. So, I think there’s a way to load PrprLive into OBS
directly, but I don’t know how to do that… So we’re going
to keep our VTuber in the corner of our screen
somewhere with the green screen, and crop a Display
Capture, key out the green, so we can put our VTuber
anywhere we want.

8. So, drag the PrprLive window to the side somewhere,

preferably on your second monitor.

9. Go into OBS or Streamlabs OBS and add a Display

Capture (Window Capture won’t work for some reason)
and select the display with your VTuber on it
10. It should show your whole desktop now! You can crop
it by holding Alt and dragging in from the edge handles
(but not from the corner). Crop it to fit your VTuber,
leaving a bit of room for it’s range of movement.

11. Right click the Display Capture layer and select Filters
and Add (+) a Color Key. These are the settings I use
12. Once you put everything in place, you should be good
to go! Happy streaming! Go buy Among Us and support
them!

CUSTOMIZING YOUR AMONG US BEAN

1. Right, so earlier I said that the only texture file you need
is texture_00.png so why are there so many images in
the texture folder???

2. Here’s what you see

3. Again, texture_00.png is your main file. If you want to
change avatar’s colors to another color, just rename
current texture_00.png to something else (just so you
have it for later, if you want), and rename the preferred
file to “texture_00.png”

4. Then, reload your model into PrprLive and it should be

done!
5. You’re free to make your own colors or patterns by
editing the .PNGs directly with Photoshop or any drawing
program of your choice! You can also draw your own hat
for your VTuber rig, using “hat sample” image for
reference to see the invisible borders of the hat texture
area.

Ta-da! You’re done! Follow me on socials :3
