‭SCIENCE ANNUAL EXAM REVISION‬

‭1. WHAT ARE THE CLASSIFICATION OF MICROORGANISMS?‬

‭ NSWER:‬
A

‭There are four classifications of microorganisms:-‬

‭⦁Bacteria‬
‭⦁Fungi‬
‭⦁Protozoa‬
‭⦁Algae‬

‭ .‬‭WHAT ARE VIRUSES? NAME FEW OF THEM.‬

2
‭ANSWER:‬
‭Microbes reproduce under the cells of the host organism, which can be a plant, animal, or a‬
‭bacterium; Some of these are Corona, Flu, Polio, Chicken pox, etc.‬

‭ .‬‭LIST DOWN 3 THE DISEASES CAUSED BY BACTERIA & THEIR MODE OF‬
3
‭TRANSMISSION‬
‭ANSWER:‬
‭⦁BACTERIA - MODE OF TRANSMISSION‬
‭⦁Tuberculosis - Air‬
‭⦁Cholera - Food/Water‬
‭⦁Typhoid - Water‬

‭ .‬‭WRITE DOWN THE ADVANTAGES OF BACTERIA‬

4
‭ANSWER:‬
‭⦁Lactobacillus- This bacteria helps us in the conversion of milk to curd.‬
‭⦁Rhizobium- This bacteria helps in increasing soil fertility.‬
‭●‬ ‭Cyanobacteria[blue-green algae]-This bacteria helps in cleaning the‬
‭environment.‬
‭⦁It helps us in making medicines.‬
‭⦁It helps in making antibiotics like Tetracycline, Streptomycin, Erythromycin, etc.‬
‭⦁It helps in the process of Fermentation‬
‭5‬‭. WHERE DO MICROBES LIVE?‬
‭ANSWER:‬

‭ icrobes can live in all environments, ranging from ice-cold climates to hot springs, deserts,‬

‭ ..‬‭. WHAT ARE ANTIBIOTICS? GIVE 3 EXAMPLES.‬
7
‭ANSWER: Antibiotics are medicines that fight bacterial infections in people and animals.‬
‭They work by killing the bacteria or making it hard for the bacteria to grow and multiply. Eg.‬
‭Streptomycin, Tetracycline, and Erythromycin.‬

‭ )‬‭WHICH DISEASE IS CAUSED BY PLASMODIUM (PROTOZOA)? BY WHOM IS THE‬

8
‭DISEASE CARRIED?‬
‭ANSWER:This protozoan causes us a disease called malaria. It is carried by female‬
‭anopheles mosquitoes.‬

‭ )‬‭EXPLAIN NITROGEN CYCLE WITH DIAGRAM.‬

9
‭ANSWER: The nitrogen Cycle is a biogeochemical process through which nitrogen is‬
‭converted into many forms, consecutively passing from the atmosphere to the soil to‬
‭organisms and back into the atmosphere. It involves several processes such as nitrogen‬
‭fixation, nitrification, denitrification, decay, and putrefaction.‬
