A Benchmark For Comparison of Cell Tracking Algorithms

This document describes a benchmark for comparing cell tracking algorithms. It presents the methods, datasets, and results of the first Cell Tracking Challenge, which aimed to objectively evaluate cell tracking performance. Six algorithms were compared on both synthetic and real multidimensional fluorescence microscopy videos. The challenge created a comprehensive video dataset repository and defined objective accuracy measures for algorithm comparison and ranking. While no single best algorithm was identified, the challenge established a framework for standardized evaluation of cell tracking methods.
