IM151-8 CPU Highlights: 128 kB work memory Station width up to 2 m or 63 modules PROFINET RT and IRT real-time communication PROFINET interface with 3 ports (switch) PROFINET I/O, 128 IO devices can be connected PROFINET CBA Open Ethernet communication (TCP/IP, UDP, Iso-on-TCP) Web-server functionality for information, status and diagnosis Clock synchronization over Ethernet (NTP)

Fast start-up of IO Devices (Accelerated Start Up) SNMP Optional subordinated PROFIBUS DP via master interface module Data record routing (if DP master module is plugged in) Support of the diagnostic repeater on PROFIBUS-DP for analysis of network interruptions Maintenance-free without battery Reset to Factory Settings Firmware update over networks Maintenance LED

PROFINET Due to the use of the PROFINET ERTEC 400 ASIC with integral switch, the IM 151-8 PN/DP CPU features three PROFINET ports: 3 x RJ45. This permits the design of hierarchical network topologies as well as line structures. All three PROFINET ports are absolutely equal. Communication between CPU and programming device is via one of the three ports. Amongst other, the IM 151-8 PN/DP CPU supports PROFINET with IRT and thus enables short and predictable response times, even faster deterministic data exchange with IO Devices and high noise immunity compared to non-real-time data communication. PROFINET IO The IM 151-8 PN/DP CPU is an IO controller that can drive up to 128 IO devices. More information on PROFINET IO is available from the "PROFINET System Description" (entry ID: !19292127!). Differences and common features between PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO are described in the programming manual "From PROFIBUS DP to PROFINET IO" (entry ID: 19289930!) PROFINET CBA (Component-based Automation) The integral CBA functionality of the IM151-8 PN/DP CPU permits technological modularization of machines and systems, resulting in the following benefits: Plants are easier to standardize and can be re-used and expanded more easily. This enables a flexible and fast response to customer requirements and shortens and simplifies commissioning due to pre-tests at component level. PROFIBUS Due to the use of the optional PROFIBUS master interface module (6ES7138-4HA00-0AB0), the IM151-8 PN/DP CPU can also be used as master on PROFIBUS DP, as is already the case with the IM151-7 CPU. Up to 32 PROFIBUS DP slaves can be connected to the CPU in this case.

Compatibility and necessary components Compatibility The IM151-8 PN/DP CPU is fully program compatible with the latest generation ET200S IM 151-7 and S7-300 CPUs (with SIMATIC Micro Memory Card and w/o backup battery). SIMATIC Micro Memory Card (required for operation of the CPU) The CPU makes use of a SIMATIC Micro Memory Card. It is used as plug-in loading memory, but can also store compressed STEP7 projects including comments and symbolic (please take project/card size into account). Using SFCs, the SIMATIC Micro Memory Card can also be used to store data blocks and to store and read data. The following types can be used: Designation SIMATIC Micro Memory Card 64 kB Order No. 6ES7953-8LF20-0AA0

* recommended STEP 7 The new CPU can be configured with STEP 7 version 5.4 SP4 and higher. Configuration of the CPU with older STEP7 versions is not possible. IM151-8 PN/DP CPU 6ES7151-8AB00-0AB0
