3. Energy Audit & Findings

To compute for the monthly electricity bill:

Total Kwh (AC & Equipment) = 60.56 kw x 18 hrs = 1,090.08 kwh
Total Kwh (AC& Equipment + Lightings & Others) = 1,090.08 kwh + 250 kwh = 1,340.08
kwh
DU Rate = Php 12.50/kwh (commercial)
Monthly Billing = Php 11.50 x 1,340.08 kwh = Php16,751.00

4. Opportunities for Improving Energy Performance

A. Following are recommended lower the electricity bill:

• Replace the old conventional AC & blowers in to inverter AC and new drive
motors for the blowers.
• Reduce the operating hours of the AC & Blowers in 16 hours operation. Switch
of the AC & blowers 2 hours before the closing time since no more customer and
only cleaning is being done.
• Change the lightings in to LED.
B. The implementation of the above-mentioned recommendation will be one year and it
is projected that the energy consumption of the restaurant will be down by 45%. The
cost of implementation is estimated to be Php 350k.
C. To Compute for the Expected monthly billing = 1,340.08 (.45) x 12.50 = 7,523.95
D. Monthly Savings = Php 16,751.00 – Php 7,523,95 = 9,227.05
E. Simple Payback = Php 350,000.00 / Php 9,227,05 = 37.93 mos. or 3.16 years
