B. Activity/Motivation Learning Task:
ROLL A TASK
This game is called "Roll a Task". The teacher will roll a dice and if the
dice stop in any number, the student will do the task that assign to
her/him. For example, the task in #1 is RUNNING IN PLACE, the
student will perform it.
C. Analysis What do you feel after the activity?
Was the activity challenging, why or why not?
D. Abstraction The teacher will discuss the physical fitness and its health-related
component and its skilled-related fitness.

Physical fitness is the body’s ability to function effectively and


efficiently without undue fatigue.
The teacher will show two different pictures of people
doing different physical activities.
The teacher will let the learners say something about the pictures
shown to them.

HEALTH RELATED COMPONENT


Components Description
Muscular Strength The ability of the muscles to exert
maximal effort in brief duration of time
Cardio Vascular It is also known as stamina. It is the
Endurance ability to work continuously for a longer
period of time.
Flexibility The ability of a joint to move through a
full range of motion.
Muscular Endurance Define as the maximum pull or push
that can be exerted one time by muscle
group
Body Composition Refers to proportion of lean body mass
to fat body mass

SKILLED RELATED FITNESS


Components Description
Speed The amount of time the body takes to perform a
specific task.
Agility The ability of individual to quickly shift or
change direction of the body from one point to
another.
Power The amount of force a muscle in the body can
exert.
Balance The ability to maintain your equilibrium either
when moving or remaining stationary.
Coordination The ability to use your senses and different
parts of your body to perform motor tasks
accurately and smoothly.
Reaction Time It is the amount of time it takes to respond to a
stimulus.
To sum up the topic, what do we mean by physical fitness?

Before we start with our lesson today, lets have an activity first.

 Take a look in the pictures on the board, what have you observed?
 Very good, they are doing an exercise.

 Now, lets have a game. This game is called “Roll a Dice”. I will roll the dice and if the dice stops in
#1 you will do the task that is assigned to you. For example, the task in # 1 is RUNNING IN PLACE,
you will perform it. Did you understand?
 Okay, so let’s start.

 What do you feel after the activity?

 Our topic for this morning is all about Physical Fitness.


 Physical fitness is the body’s ability to function effectively and efficiently without undue fatigue.
 A person is physically fit if he/she can do his/her day-to-day activities well without easily feeling
tired. Meaning, as we are able to do a work without getting tired, we are physically fit.
 Let’s take a look in the pictures. What are they doing?
 Very good, they are doing physical activities that can help them to become physically fit.
 Physical fitness is divided into 2 and these are the health and skill-related components.
 Now, let’s proceed to health-related fitness components. When we talk about health-related fitness it
involves skills that enable one to become and stay physically healthy.
 Under health-related fitness, we have?
 Thank you.
 Muscular Strength - Curl ups are one of the best practices to test the muscular strength as it is about
how much weight you can lift with your muscles at one time.
 Cardio Vascular Endurance- It has many benefits as it allows us to be active throughout the day.
 What are the activities that you can perform with this component? We have running, walking, biking.
 Next is, Flexibility- are you flexible class? Because being flexible is the ability to move your joints
freely.
 Well, we can test your flexibility through zipper test and sit and reach.
 Muscular Endurance- It is the ability to move your muscles repeatedly without getting tired.
 One of the activities to practice muscular endurance is through push ups and it is also the physical
fitness test to be done o measure the strength of our upper extremities.
 Last component under health-related fitness is the body composition.
 In other words, it describes your weight more accurately and provides a better glimpse into your
overall health. And we can measure our body composition by getting waist circumference or our Body
Mass index (BMI).
 Again, Health-related fitness are composed of?
 Very good!

 Now that you already know the components under health-related fitness, let us proceed to skill-related
fitness.
 When you hear skill-related fitness, what comes in your mind?
 Very good, when we talk about skill-related fitness, it involves skills that will enhance one's
performance in athletic or sports events.
 Can you name the different skill-related components?
 Thank you!
 What is the definition of speed? Anyone?
 As we all know, speed is the ability to perform quick movements. And the best example here is
running.
 Next, we have, agility. What is agility?
 It is the ability to move towards different direction.
 What sports do you know that the practice of agility is much needed?
 Very good. We have basketball, volleyball, tennis.
 Next, we have, power. Do you know class that power is the combination of strength and speed?
Because it is the ability to release force at a fast rate.
 What are the sports that we need to use power?
 Weightlifting or track and field events like long jump
 Next, we have balance. What is balance?
 Yes, and we can apply this balance in gymnastics or one leg stance test.
 Coordination. It’s the ability to skillfully execute movements while performing other tasks. In
playing basketball and baseball, coordination is much needed.
 Lastly, we have reaction time. What is the meaning of reaction time?
 Ruler test is the physical fitness test that is used to this component.
 To sum up the topic, what do we mean by physical fitness?
 Under health-related components there are five components. What are the following?
 How about the skill-related components, what are those?
 Remember class that those components can be seen in all the physical activities that we do every time.
