About The Role

The SDIT creates and runs automated tests that conform to IVY Engineering standards. They acquire the
skills and competence needed to become a valuable contributor to their team with minimal supervision
from senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

 Independently formulates test plans for features, requiring minimal guidance from senior team members.
 Performs both exploratory and scripted testing while automating common workflows.
 Attains comprehensive knowledge of assigned products and understands interactions with dependent systems.
 Demonstrates a sound understanding of tools and processes employed at Entain.
 Possesses a solid grasp of computer science fundamentals.
 Capably diagnoses and resolves issues in automated tests, delivering modifications and enhancements of small to
medium complexity with minimal guidance from senior engineers.
 Proficiently authors automated tests independently using the existing framework and enhances them based on
senior engineers' recommendations.
 Assumes ownership of quality efforts for their squad's feature testing and actively participates in bug triages.
 Engages in collaborative discussions with the Product Owner to thoroughly address features to be developed,
actively seeking clarifications.
 Effectively communicates their understanding of problems and solutions to team members before implementing
them.
 Strives for excellence by consistently elevating the quality of their deliverables.
 Adheres to interview guidelines and contributes to the interview process by pairing with senior engineers.
 Offers mentorship to Associate SDETs, guiding them in managing their deliveries through code review.

Specialist skills and experience

Essential:

 Proficient in Software Testing, an investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the
quality of the software product or service under test.
 Proficient in Test designing for individual components and end to end test, understands testing and different
software layers
 Advanced in Test Management, the process of managing the testing activities to ensure high quality and high-
end testing of the software. Experience in using Test Management tools like Jira Xray
 Exposure to Linux command and DB queries.
 Experience with cross browser testing and understanding of Cloud Device like Browserstack and LambdaTest
 Proficient in Test Planning, detailing the objectives, resources, and processes for a specific test for a software or
hardware product.
 Proficient in test automation (Web/Mobile) of front end and backend applications. Proficient in Test Automation
Frameworks understanding and building shared reusable components
 Advanced in Agile Testing, a software testing practice that follows the principles of agile software development.
 Proficient in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment Automation and orchestration, can partner with
DevOps engineer to integrate quality gates and monitor failures.
 Expert in Defect identification, debugging and reporting. Can drill down on issue with logs and debuggers to do
a pre analysis before SDE is involved.
 Proficiency in at least one of modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Python etc
 Good understanding of Software Design and architecture, should be able to understand flow of data from front
end system to all the way to database
 Advanced in Test Case Design / Writing, specifying the set of actions to be performed on a system to determine
if it satisfies software requirements and functions.
 Proficient in Test Automation Frameworks, a set of components that facilitate executing tests and
comprehensive reporting of test results.
 Proficient in Functional / Non-functional Testing. Functional testing ensures that functions and features of the
application work properly. Nonfunctional testing examines other aspects of how well the application works.
