JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Officer – System Analysis & QA


TEAM/PROGRAMME: Program Operations/ICT LOCATION: Dhaka
GRADE: Equivalent to grade D Type of Contract: Contractual
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 2: either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as
part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal
executive); therefore a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or as applicable).
ROLE PURPOSE:
This role will be responsible for ensuring that the organisations software development is fit for purpose,
meeting both external and internal requirements and will acts as an intermediary between the business
community and the technical community, working with IT project teams and business clients to collect,
clarify, and document business requirements. In addition to ensuring quality on projects, the role will
need to establish and provide leadership on best practice testing procedures and the use of
manual/automated testing. Mentoring to others on testing may also be required. Manage/ensure all
user/technical documentation and will be able to writing concept note and various other technical
proposals. Formulate and design software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to
predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. This role works alongside developers,
project leads, support staff, and product owners.

SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Manager – ICT Application Management
Staff reporting to this post: The role will mentor local and remote SAQA staff and peers from a technical
perspective.
Dimensions:
Position based in Dhaka. The Senior Officer - SAQA is expected to spend approximately 20% of his/her
work time in field
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
 work with project lead to ensure that designs and technical deliverables meet quality objectives
and are realistically estimated
 responsible for identifying and reviewing activities and deliverables critical to project quality
 ensure quality by analyse translate business process to the system in connection with
developers
 review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and
meaningful feedback
 create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
 estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
 identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
 develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
 liaise proactively with project leads, analysts, business leads, developers and other testers to
identify testing and validation requirements
 ensure quality by deliver UX/UI design including wireframe and rapid prototype development
 consult with product development to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, and
performance requirements of overall system
 recommend design improvements or corrections to engineers throughout the development
process
 responsible for organising and coordinating UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by partnering with
business users
 monitor program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program
operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation

 set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved by defining quality
procedures and tools
 reduce the number of ‘bug’ related issues being logged by users
 conduct interview with clients, record requirements and create required DFD, flowcharts,
concept note, user manual as per documentation guideline in connection with team
 ensure quality web content and prepare site map by assessing business requirements in
connection with end users
 standardize business promotional documents for highlighting product features
 accelerate communication channel with business partner and frequently update user
requirements
 maintain release history and deploy stable release
 stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

QUALIFICATIONS
B.Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:
 Proven business requirements gathering and process/workflow analysis skills
 Demonstrable ability to write high quality requirements / user stories
 Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
 Experience with UX/UI design including wireframe and rapid prototype development
 Understanding of modelling techniques, such as unified modelling language
 strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
 expertise in developing and implementing test plans and test scripts

 experience of testing front (e.g. websites, android app) and back end systems (e.g. database
checking)
 ability to take ownership and responsibility of manual and automated testing processes
 exposure to one or more automated testing tools including their setup
 understanding of software development methods and practices
 experience of managing system changes through a release management lifecycle
 experience of managing issue tracking databases and prioritising issues for future release
 demonstrate an eye for detail, problem analysis and resolution skills
 excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English - must be able to
communicate at both a technical and non-technical level
 proven ability to explain technical ideas and problems clearly to non-experts
 ability to work well under pressure
 cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally

Desirable:
 non-profit sector knowledge/experience
 have a passion for agile with experience of one or more Agile frameworks
 experience in working with offshore project team members
 experience with JIRA (including any testing plugins)

 ability to speak/write in languages other than English
