One of the best parts of my senior high school days was the Work Immersion Program.
Why not? Work immersion gave me the opportunity to experience this for 10 days and it
When I was a kid, I would often wonder what life would be like if I were working in a

As I work to my field, I learned and I gained so much knowledge that will help me in the
near future such as basic ethics in the workplace, the do’s and dont’s and how to
respect every person we will interact on. Also, I would like to thank every teachers and
It was a sunny day when our Day one started and every students were grouped into
their offices. Also a short discussion and advises before we go to our office. We were a
bit late when we came to the office. Briefly, I scanned the place and saw the admin
officer Mrs. Melody Alabaso busy reading important documents. The hesitation in our
smiles was erased when she smiled back. We were after all, a combination of nerves
and excitement
After calling each of our names for attendance check, Mrs. Melody told us that she has
always believed in the old saying that first impression lasts. She counseled that if we
were to apply for a job, we need to looks and dress for that job. Expensive clothes are
I actually expected that all students in the Immersion Program just had to sit down all
day, chill and observe the surroundings. It turned out, however, that our manager had
another plan in mind. Mrs. Molina assigned us to the financial assistance office and
gather all the papers if someone go and ask for it. And to meet the staffs in the office

Day two started and I woke up, eat and dress up before I go to my office. As I go to my
office, I greet everyone a “Good Morning Sir/Ma’am!”. I checked my dtr and logged in
before 8:00 a.m. and to do the task I will do. First task was to clean the desks.
Secondly, I and my fellow partners in this work immersion, Kazer were told to go outside
and buy some metal holes for the tarpaulins, as we bought and brought it to the staffs,
we helped them to insert the things in the tarpaulin for the upcoming event in Barangay
Warding. Another is talking to the people who need financial assistance via phone and

was assigned as the team leader of my fellow work immersion students and was told
that I must observe them, the documentation they will do, the people that will get them
to interact such as the Vice Mayor, Councilors, Staffs and the people who need
assistance. Lunch passed by, I was asked if “Marunong ka ba mag encode?” and to
everything so I said “Yes Sir!” and sarcastically asked again “Talaga ba?” and again I
said “Opo sir, hundred percent!”. Mr. Weng, another admin officer in the Vice Mayor’s
Office given me the task to copy something important and to print it.
Lastly I did was to get their DTR’s before logging out to the office.

On the Fourth Day, It is Ash Wednesday. Same as the day I do for the day in my
workplace. First thing I did was to open some folders with important papers especially
the financial assistance paper and give it to my officer in charge. After my lunch, we
were told to help the VMO’s staffs to apply some glue on the tarpaulin because they will
change the government institution into another government institution for preparation of
the event on tomorrow. As we finished it, Ma’am Melody tells everyone if who’s coming
and partake on the Ash Wednesday in Event Center in Bayambang Municipal Hall. We
listened about Father’s advices and the God’s word. And that is my day four of my Work
Immersion.

things that is need in the preparation of the event on Friday such the tarpaulins, chairs
and the consent papers. They told us to help the staffs to arrange and put the tarpaulins
in every room of Warding Elementary School as well as the chairs too outside. All the
teachers were happy because we told them that tomorrow will have an event called
“Komprehensibong Serbisyo sa Bayan” because they’re asking “Para saan iyan mga
anak?” and that’s why. As we prepared and arranged everything, we returned back to
our office from Barangay Warding to Legislastive Office (VMO). Before I log out, Sir
Rene told me and gave me a map of Warding’s Elementary School for tomorrow
because he told me “Mag motor nalang kayo para maaga kayo’t makapag arrange at
tumulong sa mga paparating na mga tao sa Warding” and I agreed. And that’s for

people get there, we assisted them on what they are looking for such as in medicine

staffs said “Walay free haircut, manpagupit kila” and I didn’t hesitate to say no and I said

everyone got what they need and we flew back to the office. As I got there I had another

SUMMARY
Lifelong learning comes from greater experience. This statement would best describe
the journey of students in their work immersion. As their immersion teacher, I would say
that their learnings and involvement exceed their expectations. have seen the
enthusiasm and hunger for knowledge in their daily encounter of the different tasks and
activities. Every day is a new day for them. A lot of unexpected drills and exercises
happened. It seemed that they have moved from the four walls of the classroom and
able to see the real world that give them many opportunities in the future.
The work immersion has paved the way for them to embark and make the best plans in
their future career. They have realized the importance of self discipline and passion to
make work and daily performance more productive and meaningful. Indeed, work
immersion had helped them prepare and make future decisions on their postsecondary
