New features and extra versatility
for your go-all-out-and-get-it-done attitude
n New PowerTech™ PSX Engines. The 9360R is built with the PowerTech PSX 9.0 L Engine
while all other 9R/9RT Tractors feature the new PowerTech PSX 13.5 L Engine. All engines
meet Interim Tier 4 (IT4) emission regulations.
n Refined PowerShift Transmission with new Efficiency Manager. Engine-integrated
shifting, in conjunction with Engine Control Unit software, provides more uniform shifting
from gear to gear for a more comfortable ride. Efficiency Manager uses input from the tractor
to adjust and match engine and transmission performance to selected ground speed,
providing the most fuel-efficient tractor possible.
n New CommandView™ II Cab. Spacious. Quiet. Comfortable. And loaded with advanced
technology, like the easy-to-use GS3 CommandCenter™ Display with an available touch-screen
option. Both displays are loaded with select GreenStar™ 3 applications such as AutoTrac™ and
Section Control (apps require activation fee).
n PTO option on all ag models. An available PTO on all 9R/9RT Series Tractors improves
implement compatibility.
n High-flow hydraulic improvements. Available on all models with a PowerShift
Transmission; ideal for hydraulic fan motor demands. Two systems allow both high-flow/low-
pressure and low-flow/high-pressure functions to be connected simultaneously.
n Optional field-installed three-quarter-inch (19 mm) SCV. At 45 gpm (170 L/min), the
9R/9RT Series has 22-percent more flow from SCV 1 than the 9030/9030T Series.
n Hitch and tire improvements on all ag models. The optional 20,000-pound (9072 kg)
3-point hitch has 30-percent more hitch-lift capacity than the 9030 Series. Expanded Group
48 tire compatibility on tractors equipped with the 15,300-pound (6940 kg) 3-point hitch
option provides a bigger footprint for better traction and reduced compaction.

New John Deere PowerTech™ PSX Engines give
you the power to grow beyond your goals.

The 9R/9RT Series Tractors are built with the John Deere
PowerTech PSX 9.0 L Engine or the new John Deere
PowerTech PSX 13.5 L Engine. These air-to-air after-
cooled engines deliver constant power over a wide range
of engine RPMs and can provide a 38-percent torque rise
and a 10-percent power bulge that will pull you up, over,
and through tough conditions. Two turbochargers are
used in a series for outstanding engine responsiveness.
By splitting the work between two turbochargers, both
can operate at peak efficiency and at slower rotating
speeds for improved durability.

An advanced engine control unit can sense engine speed


and load changes at a rate of 100 times per second. This
allows the engine to instantly adjust fuel quantity and
injection timing, air-to-fuel ratio, multiple fuel injections,
and amount of cooled exhaust gas recirculation to save
fuel and improve performance.

The 9R/9RT Series meets the U.S. Environmental Engines
Protection Agency’s Interim Tier 4 Emissions
Regulations by utilizing cooled exhaust gas
recirculation for controlling oxides of nitrogen
and a smart exhaust filter for reducing particulate
matter. The filter automatically cleans itself during
normal machine operation for hassle-free and
worry-free emissions compliance.

The 9R/9RT Series offers two transmission choices: an


18-speed PowerShift with Efficiency Manager or the
24-speed PowrSync™ manual-shift transmission. Both
give you more power in the lower gears for tremendous
lugging capability when using extra-wide tillage tools,
planters, air seeders, and nutrient-application rigs. You
also get transport speeds of up to 25 mph (40 km/h) for
reduced transport time.

plenty of reserve capacity to operate large hydraulic
motors, even at reduced engine speeds. Closed-center

split between the two systems: functions that require
high flow and low pressure can be combined on one
system (such as air-seeder fans and planter motors).
Functions that require high pressure and low flow can
be connected to the remaining system (such as
implement lift, fold, and down-pressure).

n Selective control valves (SCVs). You can choose four


to six SCVs at the rear of the tractor to meet your needs.
Simple hydraulic control lets you easily adjust flow and
time detents for each hydraulic coupler right from the
CommandARM™ Console. A new 3/4-inch (19 mm)
SCV can be field installed, providing 45 gpm (170 L/min)
for 22-percent greater flow from one SCV when
compared to the 9030 Series. This increased flow allows
for implements to run efficiently with a quicker reaction
time during operation and quicker fold time.

John Deere Scraper Special Tractor. It’s the only fully
integrated tractor-scraper system on the market and does
as much or more work as a self-propelled scraper or truck
and excavator – but at one-third of the initial investment,
and with half the labor for a lower cost of operation.

Scraper Special models are now available in both wheel


and track configurations, giving you more solutions for
your operation. All wheel models are built with front- and
rear-axle reinforcements to power through the demands
of land-leveling and earthmoving. They also feature
Category 5 Drawbar support so they can handle big disks,
heavy rippers, and other large-scale implements. Track
models feature the 30-inch (76 cm) Durabuilt 5500 Series
scraper track belts and a new 130-cc steering pump
for improved durability, plus drawbar support for short
scraper drawbars.

n AutoLoad. The John Deere AutoLoad system makes


it push-button easy to consistently load the scraper in
minimal time with minimal effort. AutoLoad controls the
scraper’s hydraulic-lift functions during the load cycle by
automatically adjusting the blade height until the pan is
full, then disengages through normal operation. You get
consistently filled scrapers time after time.

added flotation and a super-smooth ride thanks to the exclusive AirCushion™ Suspension System. The system
isolates the entire front chassis from harsh ruts and cuts, plus it lets you work at faster speeds.
