The wing panel can only be ordered in individual parts and must
be prepared for installation as follows.

– Rivet bracket -1- onto wing panel -2- with pop rivets -3-.
• The bracket must be positioned under the edge of the wing
panel.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order; note the following:
– Insert seal (bottom) -3- in wing panel -2- in area of seal (top)
-1-, as shown in illustration.

Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order; note the following:
– Clean bonding surface on body with cleaning solution - D 009
401 04- .
– Peel protective film off adhesive strips -3, 4-.
– Fit closure plate -2- on wing panel -1-.
• Slide catch -5- into mounting until it engages audibly.
– Press closure plate onto A-pillar using roller - 3356- .

– Pull Bowden cables (front -5- and rear -1-) on both sides out
of retaining clips -4-.
– To remove, release catches -arrows- at lock carrier from front
and push coupling unit towards rear and out of bracket for ar‐
rester.
– When installing in bracket for arrester, catches must engage
audibly.
Engaging Bowden cable in coupling unit
– Engage Bowden cable -1- to vehicle interior in roller -3- of
coupling unit, as shown.
– Press Bowden cable into mounting on housing.
– Press housing cover -2- on so that arrow points in direction of
Bowden cable -1- to vehicle interior.
– Adjust Bowden cable via collar -4- so that bonnet locks are
released simultaneously.

– First unclip retaining clip for seal at top and pull slightly off door.

Installing

For installing, you can coat the bottom edge of the window slot
trim strip with tyre assembly paste.
– Position window slot trim strip -1- at trim panel for B-pillar on
door seam and press on evenly -arrows A-; retaining strip -2-
should engage audibly.
• When fixing strip in position -arrow-, retaining strip should en‐
gage underneath retaining plate -3-.

– Swivel exterior door handle -1- in direction of -arrow B- and
push in »driver« -5- in front of operating lever -4- in mounting
bracket.
– Press retainer for lock cylinder towards exterior door handle.

mounting bracket outside the door.
Removing
– Remove mounting bracket and door lock ⇒ page 115 .
– Turn operating cable on lever -1- 90° in direction of -arrow A-
and take it out of support bracket -2-.
– Turn operating cable on operating lever -3- for door lock in
direction of -arrow B-.
• The operating cable must be aligned with the opening on the
operating lever.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order; note the following:
– Engage operating cable -3- in operating lever -2- for door lock.
– Insert operating cable into support bracket -1- and turn lever
-4- 90° -arrow-.
• Lug on lever must engage audibly in support bracket.
– Release operating cable with clip -1- from door lock by turning
90° at support bracket; then slide out to the side.

Removing
– Before removing, mark position of sill panel trim with adhesive
tape or similar.
– Carefully heat sill panel trim -1, 3- with hot air blower - V.A.G
1416- .
– Use removal wedge - 3409- to carefully prise sill panel trim off
side member -arrow-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order; note the following:
– Clean bonding surface on body with cleaning solution - D 009
401 04- .
– Peel protective film off adhesive strip -2-.
– Position sill panel trim on side member according to marks and
press firmly into place working from front to rear using roller -
3356- .
• Leave vehicle standing at room temperature for at least 2
hours.

Installing
– Remove any residual adhesive with adhesive strip remover -

– Fold ends -3- of protective film up 90° at outer edges of mount‐
ing, as shown in illustration.
– Position mounting -2- on top edge of side member.
– Screw in nuts -1- by hand as far as stop.
– Peel protective film off adhesive strip -4-.
– Press mounting onto side member over entire length.
• Leave vehicle standing at room temperature for at least 4
hours.
– Tighten nuts to specified torque.
