Introduction

According to Julie Hirschauer (2018) Entrepreneurial excellence can be broken down

into a wide range of different skill sets such as technical skills, leadership and business
management skills and good thinking. With its help, everyone will have advance knowledge
about starting a business, it will also help to fully implement and organize their development
plan. Entrepreneurship refers to a person with modern skills, doing something new and
different, looking for the right opportunity, starting a business, keeping up, developing an
idea and leading the things that can be used to succeed (Okute, 2020).

Start-ups are made by entrepreneurs who want to find, start or develop and think of a
business that is up-to-date and in line with trends. Starting a business is a difficult step
because of the number of processes involved. It's not just money to turn the bulng business
because it needs a smart mind and enough knowledge about a business. If you want to be a
good businessman, you need to have a high mind on the problems that your business may
face, you also need enough knowledge so that you can run it properly. Based on the
University of San Diego (2024) It is important to develop the mindset to be a good
entrepreneur, to know properly the drive and determination, it is necessary to have sharp
thinking about the problem. "Have an idea, get a loan and then start a business" really won't
help you because it's one problem compounded by another problem.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) play a significant role in the economic
development of the majority of nations on Earth, and they are particularly significant to home
owners in terms of profit generating. Thus, it is a well known and undeniable truth that SMEs
play a significant role in advancing the growth of the overall economy. This will lead to an
increase in GDP, a better standard of living, and a slowdown in the rate of change. According
to Mitaksh Jain (2023) to begin with, these skills help professionals spot and seize new
possibilities, take measured risks, to succeed in a market that is constantly evolving.
Developing entrepreneurial abilities can help you succeed in your organization and stay
ahead of the curve even as a corporate executive; you don't have to be an entrepreneur or a

Background of the Study

Entrepreneurship is the ability and desire of a person to do business but if you don't
know how to do business, the business may fail. (Lorelie, Mark Anthony, Alexander, John
Lemuel 2022) Entrepreneurial competencies are considered a vital piece for aspiring
entrepreneurs to pursue entrepreneurial ventures. The research aimed to examine the personal
entrepreneurial competencies scores of accountancy, business, and management (ABM)
students in a private institution. Entrepreneurship education has helped the knowledge of

According to (Diandra, Didip & Amzy, Ahmad, 2020) Entrepreneurship is a natural

phenomenon in business. It is part of business life. It shows that business is healthy when
there are entrepreneurial skills and managements are adopted for changing and learning.
Thus, it will be beneficial for any business organization to understand the definition of
entrepreneurship, sources and types of entrepreneurship, and be able to manage
entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurial skills has helped new students' business knowledge, it aims to

provide knowledge, skills that help the thinking that students need in the complex modern
business. Within the Academic Business Management (ABM) strand, entrepreneurship
education focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills and mindsets in aspiring
entrepreneurs. In recent years a lot has changed in the global economy, technology has
developed rapidly and consumer behavior has changed. Entrepreneurial has become a force to
grow the economy, creating obstacles the dedicated to providing students of the ABM strand
who understand the principle, make strategy and prepare the practice of entrepreneurship. By
embedding entrepreneurial skill in the ABM curriculum, Immaculate Conception Polythecnic
(ICP) has unleashed creative potential in business and initiated entrepreneurial ventures that
contribute to economic development and financial wellbeing.

Statement of the Problem

This study seeks to the importance of entrepreneurial skills in business start-ups

in grade 12 abm strands student based on their perspective.

Especially, this study aims to answer the following questions:

1. How important are entrepreneurial skills in starting a business based on the

answers of grade 12 abm students?
2. How does a entrepreneurial skills help students who wants to start a business?
3. Why does entrepreneurial skills important for a students before starting their
own businesses?

Significance of the Study

The out come of the study is beneficial to the future researchers, because they will learn more
about various approaches to establish a business even if they are still students. It will also be
valuable in the future because the significance of this study has been identified. You already
understand how to operate a business properly since you have studied it. and you may share
how to run and grow a business appropriately.

Teachers. this research will benefit education because it will advance our understanding of
entrepreneurship education and provide a more thorough description of innovation, business
startup, and development.

Learners. It will assist Entrepreneur in determining what is more convenient or relevant to

them based on their personal. Entrepreneur are the top priority in this regard, particularly
those who have the opportunity to continue their education while conducting business for
economic change.

Future Researchers. the purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of

entrepreneurship education on instilling innovation and encouraging company start-ups
among ABM strand students. It studies how entrepreneurship education can provide ABM
students with the skills and mindset required to become successful entrepreneurs.

Scope and Delimitation

Its scope is to find out the role of entrepreneurship education in the development of
innovation and start-up of students who want to do business among students of ABM strand
students at Immaculate Conception Polytechnic. This study is aimed at students who want to
start a business in the ABM strand of the Immaculate Conception Polytechnic we selected in
20 random respondents students in Grade 12 ABM students to give their opinion about this
subject.

The study only focuses on the role of entrepreneurship education in business

development and start-up in grade 12 ABM strand students at Immaculate Conception
Polytechnic the study examines what is the role of entrepreneurship and business start-up
education for we selected in grade 12 ABM strand students
