III. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the Fill in the blanks to complete the equivalent measures.
new lesson 1. 140 000 cm3 = ________ m3
2. 3 L = _____cm3
3. 3 500 cm3 = ________m3
4._____cm3 = 2m3
5. 8 900 000 cm3= ______L
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Direction: Solve for the volume of these rectangular prisms,
given their measurements. Encircle the letter of the correct
answer.
1. l=10m w=4m A. 120 m3 B. 140 m3 C. 1 200 m3
h=3m
2. l= 15 cm, w= 12 cm A. 3 600 cm3 B. 3 660 cm3 C. 36 000
cm3 h= 20 cm
3. s= 14 cm A. 274 cm3 B. 2 744 cm3 C. 27 400 cm3
4. l= 14 m w=10 m A. 140 m3 B. 12 600 m3 C. 1 260 m3
h=9 m
5. s= 8 m A. 5 121 m3 B. 5 112 m3 C. 512 m3
C. Presenting Examples/ instances of the new EXPLORE AND DISCOVER
lesson What do you think is the volume of this rectangular prism?
- The rectangular prism is the big shape in the picture and even
though it is not filled with cube we need to figure out how many
cubes will it take to fill up the entire shape.
- If we move the tall stock of cube, we can see that there are 6
cubes in the bottom of the shape.
Study the examples below.
1. A storage box is 60 cm. long, 40 cm. wide and 30 cm. in
height. What is the volume of the box?
Ask: What is the length of the storage box?
What is the width?
What is the height?
How can we get the volume of the box?
First, to figure out the volume of this prism, identify the

measurements.
Length – 60 Width – 40 Height - 30
Next, substitute these values in the formula for volume then
solve.
Length × Width × Height = 60 × 40 × 30 = 72 000
Volume = 72 000 cubic units
V=LxWxH
60cm x 40 cm x 30 cm = 72 000cm3
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new The volume of a rectangular prism is equal to the
skills #1 product of its length, width and height.
 The formula in finding the Volume of a cube is;
Volume = side x side x side or V = S x S x S or V =
S3
E. Developing Mastery ACTIVITY 1: PRACTICE
Find the volume of each prism.
1. S=-5.5 m V= _____
2. l=11cm w = 7cm h = 8cm V= _____
3. l=18.5cm w =14cm h =10cm V=_____
4. S = 15m V=_____
5. l=17cm w = 8cm h =13cm V=_____
F. Finding Practical application of concepts and
skills in daily living

G. Making generalization and abstraction about Fill in the blanks.
