     The alimentary canal can be divided into

    various compartments:
     1.Buccal cavity
     2.Food pipe(oesophagus)
     3.Stomach
     4.Small intestine
     5.Large intestine
     6.Rectum
     7.Anus
     The food components gradually get digested
    with the help of digestive juices secreted by
    certain gland as food travels through the
    various compartments.
     Name the glands associated with digestive
    system?
     Salivary
    glands
     Pancreas
     Liver
     Inner wall of the stomach ,the small intestine
    and the various glands associated with the
    canal such as salivary glands, liver and
    pancreas secrete digestive juices.
     The digestive juices convert the complex
    substances of food into simpler ones.
     The digestive tract and the associated glands
    together constitute the digestive system.

    the body is called ingestion.

    smaller pieces by chewing on it.

    is called tooth decay.
     If it is not treated in time it causes toothache
    and in extreme cases results in tooth loss.
     So clean the teeth with brush or dental floss
     At least twice a day and rinse the mouth after
    every meal.
     Our mouth has the salivary glands which
    secrete saliva.
     The saliva breaks down the starch into
    sugars.
