Provide variable, reliable DC current to the field
with short time overload capability
Control machine terminal voltage, MVAR/ PF with
suitable accuracy for smooth synchronization
Ensure stable operation with network and / or other
machines
Contribute to transient stability subsequent to
network distributions
Keep machine within allowed operating range
Communication / Data exchange with power plant
control system (DCS)
Ability to provide data records for efficient analyses
