DISINFECTION

Infection Control. By Nature. Biowell

THE SAFEST DENTAL WATER FOR YOUR PATIENTS

Patients deserve 100% safety water more than just quality water.

At Biowell,we deliver state-of-the-art ozone disinfection technology specifically for use in the
Dentistry. We take our commitments to quality seriously and strive to continually improve our
products in order to ensure we are providing the highest quality ozone disinfection solutions
available. We are dedicated to providing our customers with complete solutions for their needs

ecologically responsible units.

Hazards of Using Infected Water

Studies have shown that output water from Dental Unit Waterlines (DUWLs) is usually heavily contaminated with
microorganisms, particularly bacterial species.

The high levels of microorganisms found in DUWL output water derive from microbial biofilms formed on the
internal surfaces of DUWLs. These biofilms are composed mainly of hydrated complex exopolysaccharides
secreted by bacteria.

As the biofilm grows and develops, planktonic cells and by-products such as bacterial endotoxins are released
into the water and are subsequently aerosolised by dental chair supplied instruments including turbine dental
handpieces and ultrasonic scalers.

Besides the bad odors coming out of these dirty water lines, the microbial biofilm represents a source of infection
to patients, especially who have a deficient immune system or the elderly.

Dental patients and dental healthcare staff become exposed to and can inhale the fine aerosols containing
microorganisms, fragments of biofilm and bacterial endotoxins. When this occurs, the potential for contracting
serious illness such as Legionnaires Disease is increased exposing the immunocompromised to unnecessary risk.

Taking the benefits of ozone, Biowell provides a more effective and economical way to offer consistent and
unconditional supply of bacteria-free water for dental treatment, and keep waterlines safe and clean. Our solution
accomplish a simultaneous disinfection of DUW and DUWL together, providing both an antimicrobialcleaner and
organic irrigant for enhanced patient care at all times.

Designed for self-contained water systems, the CDU favors the water
disinfection at point -of-use prior to bottle filling, with capability up to
180 liters per hour. This compact product enables clinics to use of ozonated water
for multiple disinfection applications.

CDU

MWDS-mini MWDS
MWDS series is designed for dental unit water and waterlines disinfection within direct feed configurations.
Automatic sanitation function without manually dosing chemical gives clinics a peace of mind when it comes to
DUWL disinfection.

PROUDLY CERTIFIED BY

Product Features
Continuous flow of dissolved ozone residual in the water as disinfection treatment in the dental unit waterlines

Enable ozone disinfection treatment to flush out the waterlines regularly

Continuous bacteria free water supply instead of the city water
Continuous biofilm removal & prevention – kills biofilm layer by layer
2
Bacteria are killed and flushed out of the lines before each patient. This prevents their migration in the patient's
mouth.
Effective Results You Want
Enhance existing Filtration & UV for water disinfection
Remove chemical processes for waterlines treatment

UV units are generally used to control the bacteria levels in the water, but bacteria such as Pseudomonas species will
continue to develop, producing biofilm throughout the system and compromising the water quality.
To achieve biofilm control, injecting or circulating a disinfectant throughout the system is necessary. Dissolved ozone
solution provides an effective cleaning and biocidal treatment, replacing chemical processes previously used.

Safe & Compatible with Dental Operations

Ozone use in city water disinfection and purification worldwide is recognized as the best water treatment today. It
becomes only logical to use ozone for the dental water disinfection. The result is a clean, odorless, colorless bacteria-
free supply water.

Ozone does not damage plumbing fittings or pipes, nor affect the pH of water. Moreover, it leaves no chemical by-products in water, as it
breaks down to give di-atomic oxygen.

Ozonated water leaves no biocidal traces so there is no contamination risk in bonding procedures and does not interfere with dental
material bond strengths in endodontic.

3
Enhance Your Protocol & Exceed Regulatory Standard
Continuous disinfection on-demand

Against microbiological activity in the water regularly.

Ensure the microbiological quality of the water at all times
Against biofilm contamination in the water system in every treatment.

System hygiene is maintained within the most stringent water quality standards.
