RALM 311 FINAL ACTIVITY 1

1. The sales department of ABC theme park is still far from their quota for the 3rd
quarter of 2023. The employees are doing everything that they can to make sure
that they meet the needed quota. The leadership style currently being used is the
Laissez-Faire Leadership since the employees have been with the company for
10 years.

Do you think that ABC theme park should remain or change their leadership
style?

Laissez-faire leaders allow their followers to have the autonomy to make their own
decisions and manage their own desks. In my perspective they must acquire Strategic
leadership – leaders sits between a company's primary operations and its growth
opportunities. This form of leadership requires vision, competitive awareness, and
adaptability. These leaders accept the burden of executive interests but also ensure that
working conditions are stable for everyone else.

Strategic leaders aim to guide their organization toward its long-term goals. By utilizing
this leadership style, you can create a forward-thinking, agile, and adaptable
organization that can thrive in today's dynamic business landscape.

Strategic leaders tie plans for growth and strategy to how they manage a team. They
ask questions, develop and execute strategies, and consider future growth. This
approach supports popular business goals like:

 Accountability
 Productivity
 Collaboration
 Transparency

Strategic thinking supports many employees at once, so it’s a desirable style for many
companies. It encourages visualization, planning, and making the most of existing
resources, and it can motivate employees in their perspective departments and jobs.

2. The CEO of ABC museum is demonstrating Autocratic Leadership since he

thinks that the museum has been successful under it for 20 years. The
employees are not happy with his style of leadership but somehow the visitors of
the museum still increase each and every year.

Do you think that ABC museum should remain or change their leadership style?

RALM 311 FINAL ACTIVITY 1

Autocratic leadership is the inverse of democratic leadership. In this leadership style,

the leader makes decisions without taking input from anyone who reports to them.

Employees are the core of the company. Without manpower, company will not work on
its own and attain success. The ABC museum must considerate of the welfare and
well-being because the company is obliged to take care of its people. They should
change their leadership style because the employees are not happy in their perspective
job. If they are not happy then they will not be productive. They must adopt Democratic
leadership— the leader makes decisions based on each team member‘s input. Although
a leader makes the final call, each employee has an equal say in a project’s direction.

Democratic leaders often have the following characteristics:

 Inclusive
 Collaborative
 Effective communicator
 Empowering
 Supportive and empathetic
 Trust-building
 Emotionally intelligent

The democratic leadership style is one of the most effective because it encourages
everyone to participate in all processes, share their opinions, and know that you will
hear them. It also encourages employees to be engaged because they know you will
hear their feedback. Team members feeling like they have space to participate can also
increase employee empowerment, motivation, and participation.

3. The employees of ABC Resort are under servant leadership. As a result, the
employees still take advantage of their manager. Despite this, the resort still
thrives and people continue to visit the destination.

Do you think that ABC Resort should remain or change their leadership style?

For me they should still use the same leadership style because Servant leadership
seeks to achieve a vision by providing strong support to employees. In turn, this allows
employees to learn and grow while bringing their own expertise and vision to the table.
This hinges on building influence and authority rather than using control and toxic
leadership tactics. In servant leadership, employees are empowered. But the leader
doesn’t just disappear.

RALM 311 FINAL ACTIVITY 1

The servant leader focuses on:

 Setting the strategic vision for the company and communicating that down to the
team level
 Encouraging ownership and extending supported trust to the team
 Making sure that the team has the required resources, budget, skills, and
attention to make an impact
 Providing a framework within which their team can flourish (instead of prescribing
them specific directions on each of their duties)
 Bottom-up empowerment, which means building their team members’ self-
confidence, decision-making abilities, and collaboration skills

The ABC resort Leaders who follow this style include customer-facing employees in
company decision-making. These employees have a close relationship with the
employees and the consumer and can make better decisions to retain those customers
and acquire new ones.
