A SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
a. numerate the uses of and process involved in preparing a spread sheet;
b. use function and formula in an electronic spreadsheet in an electronic spreadsheet to
perform calculation on numerical data; and
c. share the importance of using spreadsheet for daily expenses.

A. Motivation/ Let’s play a game
Presentation of the The game name I am the seller
lesson (The teacher will prepare 10 real product, mini store, fake
money and a table)
Mechanics
a. Teacher will choose who is the seller (1 students) and
who is the buyer (10 students)
b. Seller will write the price on the table in the board.

1
c. Seller will sell 10 different products with different price.
d. Seller will compute her income without the use of
calculator.
e. Seller will total
Do you enjoy the activity?
As a seller in our current activity, what have you experienced
while you are selling?
Do you find it easy to calculate your income without using a
calculator?
As a student how do say that using calculator is important for
our daily lives?
To our activity a while ago do you have any idea what would be
out topic for today?

Our topic for today is about Analyzation of Information using

ICT
B. Discussion Since our topic is about Analyzation of Information Using ICT.
Are you familiar in MS EXCEL?

What do you see when we open the MS EXCEL?

(The student will give their basic knowledge in MS EXCEL)
(The teacher will show the Power Point Presentation)

Parts of MS EXCEL (Sread sheet)

An electronic Spread application program is designed to

perform basic mathematical and arithmetic operation.
MS EXCEL is one example of commonly used computerized
worksheet. It is widely used in:

2
1. accounting and financial applications
2. statistics
3. engineering calculations
4. analyzing data
Spreadsheet such as Excel is like a filing system and a
calculator. It is made up of grids where you can enter data and
text. You can use spreadsheets in organizing data into column,
easy calculations and edits data which record new data
automatically and in making graphs to analyze information.

Functions are the calculations that return a result. To create

and enter functions, always start with an equal sign (=).
Without it, Excel will not calculate a result.

Arguments are the inputs in functions. Arguments can be in a

form of numbers, cell references, or text. Arguments can be
numbers, text, logical values such as TRUE or FALSE, arrays, error values such
as #N/A, or cell references. The argument you designate must produce a valid
value for that argument. Arguments can also be constants, formulas, or other
functions.

3
Since you know now the basic elements of spread sheet/ MS
EXCEL let’s have now how we open the MS Excel
(The teacher will show how to open and save the MS Excel)
1. Click on the Start Button.
2. In the Search Program and Click on Files box type Excel.
3. Click the Excel app and the Microsoft excel will open.
4. From the Excel start Screen, locate and select Blank
workbook to access the Excel interface.
5. To save your workbook go to the program frame click
save.
Since we know now how to save and open the spreadsheet, we
may now proceed in how we will use the spreadsheet.
(The teacher will present how to use spreadsheet)

G. Finding Practical A. Write True on the line if the statement is correct and
Application of Concept and False if it is not.
