RAS is a land-based form of aquaculture that enables high- density fish farming while minimizing impact on the
surrounding environment and avoiding depletion of natural marine and freshwater resources. Maintaining water
quality is one of the greatest challenges in a recirculating system. With VIGOROX® Trident, the biocide can be
dosed directly in the tank — without the need for time-consuming fish or water removal. VIGOROX® Trident
has no-observable effect on salmon and similar fin fish in concentrations below 3.5 mg/L. And because peracetic
acid breaks down into nothing more than water, oxygen, and acetic acid, there are no additional steps to clean up
chemical residues.
“Evonik has been pioneering this new technology in close collaboration with
authorities and research facilities. We are very pleased to be able to offer our
customers an effective treatment to reduce waterborne fish pathogens that can
be used with fish present,” said Philip Block, Technology Director for Specialty
Markets at Evonik Active Oxygens in North America. “Keeping water clean is
an important first step in pathogen management — which is a big concern to
operators of RAS systems.”
“We work closely with regulators to ensure that our products are effective when used as directed,” said LuAnn
Maloney, Regulatory Manager for Evonik Active Oxygens in North America. “The new EPA registration for VIG-
OROX® Trident attests to our commitment to offering our customers effective solutions that help them meet com-
pliance standards.”

S olvay, a global market leader in specialty materials, has officially opened another application development lab (ADL) in
Shanghai to expand the global footprint of its research and innovation capabilities. Major local and global end markets ex-
pected to benefit from Solvay’s Shanghai based Application Development Lab will be automotive, new energy, life solutions and
pharmacy, smart devices and semiconductors.
With a team of some 30 highly qualified and experienced scientists, engineers and technicians, the Shanghai ADL will be ful-
ly equipped to advance custom-tailored application developments using state-of-the-art Solvay technologies. An Innovation
Workshop will coordinate the resources to accelerate the implementation of local solutions through world class simulation, pro-
totyping and performance evaluation services, complemented by various dedicated process equipment, such as for 3D printing,
extrusion and noise-vibration-harshness (NHV) improvements.
The opening ceremony of the new lab on May 12th was attended by Solvay’s Chief Technology Officer Nicolas Cudré-Mauroux,
Andrew Lau, Senior Executive Vice President of the company’s Materials global business unit and Francesco Triulzi, Head of
Application Development Labs, Solvay Materials.
“There is a growing demand for new application development in various Chinese key industries such as automotive, life sci-
ences and electronics,” commented Andrew Lau. “Our new ADL addresses this trend with a significant investment aimed at re-
sponding to local market needs faster and with greater proximity to customers than ever, providing tailored high-performance
material solutions.”
“The new ADL will follow a triple strategy focusing on local-for-local, global-for-local and local-for-global inno-
vation,” explained Nicolas Cudré-Mauroux. “Unique facilities to support these efforts include a semiconductors
clean room environment enabling high-purity and high-temperature testing, separation capabilities for hemo-
dialysis and water filtration applications, and a functional and industrial coatings facility.”

Through the agreement, Celgard will provide 100% of a long-term supply of lithium-ion battery separators to
Lithion for use in their factories in Henderson, Nevada as well as their future 7GWh Gigafactory to be commis-
sioned by 2026, primarily for ESS applications. Celgard will have the first opportunity to supply next-generation
battery separator solutions to Lithion for all new battery developments.
Stefan Reinartz, Celgard's vice president of lithium-ion electric drive vehicle (EDV) and energy storage systems
(ESS) business, said: "We look forward to further advancing Celgard® dry-process battery separator technology
alongside Lithion with the end goal of providing safe and reliable solutions for ESS."
Celgard's parent company, Asahi Kasei, may also support Lithion's cell manufacturing requirements and will ex-
plore opportunities to leverage its diversified international manufacturing base to support the global LFP supply
chain needs for plastics and thermal retardant materials.

Sustineri Coloring is based on newly engineered process chemicals which allow a one bath pretreatment and dyeing process
for dark, medium and light shades of cotton and polyester/cotton fabrics by exhaust method. This results in shorter processing
time and less use of water and energy.
The process is already used by selected mills and it showed that Sustineri Coloring is reducing in pretreatment and dyeing the
processing time by up to 60 % and the water and energy consumption by up to 80 and 60% respectively. The state-of-the-art
products allow a one bath treatment which is the key in saving resources.
“We are incredibly proud to work together with Inditex, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers,” says Ümit
Yaldiz, CEO of Pulcra Chemicals Group. “This partnership is a significant step toward realizing our ambition of
bringing environmentally friendly solutions to the worldwide textile market.”

The project will enable Bostik to reach a turnover of around €50 million after 5 years in these high value applications by lever-
aging Arkema’s global presence throughout all geographies.
This acquisition is a unique opportunity for Bostik’s and Polytec PT's teams, who are already collaborating on new solutions. It
will allow them to accelerate these developments and become a significant player in the thermal interface materials and elec-
tronics markets.
“We look forward to welcoming Polytec PT’s teams and to support them in their ambi-
tious roadmap. We are convinced that the combination of Arkema’s expertise in batter-
ies, its global adhesives footprint and Polytec PT’s technologies will enable us to become
a recognized partner for our customers in batteries and electronics”, stated Vincent
Legros, Executive Vice President, Adhesive Solutions (Bostik).
