    Reflection Essay 2

    Something I learned about academic research in this assignment was how to quickly and

    efficiently look for sources to include in my literature review. At the beginning of this

    assignment, I was initially going to do my review about healthcare systems worldwide. As I

    found myself getting closer to the due date for my first draft, I realized my topic could have been

    more exciting, so I decided to switch my topic. After deciding to write on a new topic, I was able

    to look for the ones that would best fit in my review.

    One of the biggest lessons I learned while writing the annotated bibliography was that it

    could give you an extra hand in the organization part of the literature review. In the annotated

    bibliography, I could see what the article would be about, which helped when it came to writing

    about the different categories or subcategories I might want to write about in future literature

    reviews.

    The literature review definitely helped me look for sources I absolutely wanted, and it

    gave me a better understanding of how I can break up and organize my sources.

    Because I was not able to submit my first draft in time, I was not able to receive feedback

    from my professor. Due to me not wanting to write about the first topic of my essay i went ahead

    and missed the class in order to start my research on the new topic i was going to be writing

    about.

    Thanks to my peer reviewer, I was able to make changes to multiple third-person

    pronouns. Once I saw the number of times I wrote “we” in the essay, I went back and highlighted

    them and replaced them with more active pronouns. I wouldn't have caught that mistake myself

    because I don't know all of the first-person pronouns.

    The most challenging part of this writing assignment was having to start all over again.

    The first topic I chose, “Healthcare systems worldwide,” was literally the most boring topic ever.

    Although I was able to find sources on said topic, I couldn't find a way to connect them to each

    other for the purpose of this essay. Because of that, I decided to scrap that topic and chose one

    about procrastination. The least challenging part of this writing assignment was nothing. I have a

    hard time trying to process the information in the articles and finding something I actually want

    to write about.
