Human Values
MEANING :
Human values have necessity in today’s society, business & corporate
world. Human values are the features that guide people , implies to take
into account the human element when one interacts wit other human.
They have many positive characters that create bonds of humanity
among people & employees so they have value for human beings. They
have strong feelings for human values of the other. These human values
have the effects of bonding , confronting, maintaining strong
relationship etc.
Human values are the basis of any practical life within society &
industries. Principal terms , human values are described as universal
and are shared by all human beings , whatever their religion , their
nationality , their culture and their personal history.
TYPES OF HUMAN VALUES :
There are five major types of human value :-
i. Love
ii. Truth
iii. Right Action
iv. Peace
v. Non-Violence

MEANING OF MORALITY
Morality is something that has been debated for different countries . it
is a concept of that is often difficult to define , & its meaning can vary
from one person to another person depending on their culture &
religious beliefs .
We will explore what morality is , its history & origin , different
definations of morality , the principles of morality , examples of
morality in practice , how morality is impacted by culture and religion ,
morality & ethics , the importance of morality in our society &
industries .
Morality is a broad concept , & its meaning can defer depending on the
context . eg. Morality id the set of the standards that what is right &
wrong in terms of behaviour & beliefs . Eg of morality include being
honest , treating others with respect , helping those in need & social
norms .
HUMAN VALUES AND ETHICS
VALUES :
Values are the principles & priorities that help one to take decisions .
According to J.H Thorp a 2005 defines that the values as the core
principles that define for individuals what are ideal personal standard .
Values are in hierarchies that are unique to each individual & culture .
As a result , Values are personal standards that help people determine
the relative values , worth & important of standards to their lives.
There are two major types of values , namely terminal & instrumental .
Terminal values are desired state of existence . Terminal values are
developed through the process of upbringing from the different
peoples , happiness , freedom & friendship .
Instrumental values are desired models of behaviour . Similarly ,
Values can also be defined in various other factors .

ETHICS:
Ethics refers to morale values that are sound , actions that are morally
require (right) or morally permissible (all right) . Policies and laws that
are desirable .
Ethics is the word tha refers to moral , values , belief , attitudes , and
habits of individuals or group concerned with morals . Ethics defined as
the moral principles that controls or influence a persons behaviour or a
system of morale principles that controls or influence a persons
behaviour or a system of moral principles or rules of behaviour .
Ethics is also defined as a particular set of beliefs , attitudes and habits
of individuals or group concerned with morals . Ethics defined as the

Ethics is also defined as a particular set of beliefs , attitudes and habits
of individual depend upon the right or wrong . There are certain ethics
can be categorised as –
i. Meta Ethics
ii. Desuriptive Ethics
iii. Normative Ethics
iv. Applied Ethics
•MCOETA EHICS : Meta ethics deals with the origin of ethical
principles that governed the specification of right or wrong
behaviour .
• DESURIPTIVE ETHICS : Desuriptive ethics refers to the ethics
moral of people or societies consider right or wrong .
• NORMATIVE ETHICS : Normative ethics is concerned with
arriving at a set of morale conduct rules against which behaviours
are judged .
• APPLIED ETHICS : Applied Ethics denotes the study of ethically
controversial issues such as imposition of death, Penalty and
cloning etc. Few people applied ethics are Bio ethics , Computer
ethics , medical ethics etc

CONCEPT OF CIVIC VIRTUES
The civic virtue are the moral and rights as a citizen of village or the
country as integral part of the society and environment .
It is the state which educates its citizen civic virtue gives them a
consciousness of their mission and unity . According to Benito
Mussolini , an individual may exhibit civic virtues by voting ,
voluntering and organising welfare groups and meetings . Eg:
i. The duties are to pay taxes to the local govt. and state , in time .
ii. To keep the surroundings clean and green .
iii. Not to pollute water , land and air by following hygiene by proper
garbage disposal .
According to George Washington , embodied the civic virtue as
indespensible for self governing administration . These virtues are
divided into four major categories :-
i. Civic Knowledge
ii. Self Restraint
iii. Self Assertion
iv. Self Reliance
•CIVIC KNOWLEDGE : Citizens must understand what he
constitutions say about what the govt. is working .
• SELF RESTRAINT : For citizen to live in a free society with limited
govt. each citizen must be able to control himself .
• SELF ASSERTION : Self assertion mean that citizen must be proud
of their rights and have the courage to stand up in public and
defend their rights . Eg : Voting Rights .
• SELF RELIANCE : Self reliance citizen are free citizen in the sense
that hey are not dependent on others for their basic needs , So the
civic virtues , applicable to local , state and central govt.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS AND LIVING PEACEFULLY
The repect for others is a basic requirement for nurturing friendship ,
teamwork , for the synergy it promotes & sustain.
A child who is allowed to be dishonesty to his parents will not have
true respect for anyone .

CARING
Caring is feeling for others . Caring is nothing but showing respect to
the feelings of others caring is respecting & preserving the interest of
all others concern .
Caring is a process which exhibits the interest in & support for the
welfare of others with fairness , Impartiality & Justice in all activities
among the employees in context of professional ethics .

SHARING
Sharing is a process that describes the transfer of knowledge (teaching,
Learning, training & Information) , Commodities(Materials) & facilities
with others. The transfer should be genuine, legal, positive, & without
any expectation in return. However, the priority information, it should
not be shared with others.
Through this process of sharing, experience, expertise, wisdom & other
benefits reach more employees faster. The sharing is charity. Sharing
must be practice from childhood onwards. The sharing is basically
based on three factors :-
i. Philosophy
ii. Economically
iii. Technologically
PHILOSOPHY : Philosophy, The sharing maximizes the happiness for all
the human beings, In terms of psychology, the fear, Divide and
disappear . Sharin is not only paves the way to prosperity, early and
easily and sustain it.
ECONOMICALLY : Economically, speaking , benefits are maximized as
there is no wastage or loss and everybody gets once needs fulfilled and
satisfied. Commercially speaking the profits is maximized.
TECHNOLOGICALLY : The productivity, utilization are maximized by
sharing, the cooperative societies for producers as well as consumers
are typical examples of sharing of the goods, profit and other social
benefits.
HONESTY
Honesty refers to a fact of moral character and connotes positive and
virtue as attributes is not clear such as integrity, truthfulness,
straightforwardness, along with the absence of lying, cheating, theft etc.
Honesty also includes being trustworthy, loyal, fear and sincere.

i. Truthfulness : Truthfulness is to face the representing upon telling
truth. One should keep once word/Promise .
ii. Trust worthiness : It is maintain integrity and taking
responsibility for personal performance.
iii. Straight Forwardness : The straight forwardness is depend upon
the various other situations, timing, place & goals.
COURAGE
Courage is the tendancy to accept & face risk & difficult task in rational
ways.
Self confidence is the basic requirement to nurture courage. Courage is
classified into three major types, mainly :
i. Physical courage
ii. Social courage
iii. Intellectual courage

CO-OPERATION
Co-operation is activity between two persons or sectors that aims at
Integration of operation (Synergy) while not scarifying the automy of
either party. Co-operation is the willingness to understand others ,
think , & act together & putting into this practise . It is a transpirit
present with every individual engaged in Engineering .
According to the professional ethics , operation should exist or be
developed & Maintained at several levels between the employers &
employees between the superiors & subordinates , between the
producers & the suppliers & between the organization & its customers.
The Successful cooperation are based on , eg:
i. Clash of ego of Individuals
ii. Lack of Leadership & Motivation
iii. Lack of Interest & Ignorance.
COMMITMENT
Commitment needs alignment to goals & adherence to ethical
principles during the activities .
Commitment as the driving force to realize success is attained by :
i. Believing in once Action performed .
ii. Expected end results (Confidence) .
iii. Holding sustained interest & other factors .
The Commitment of top management will naturally lead to committed
employees , whatever their positions. This is bond to add wealth to
oneshelf once employer, Society & the nation at large.

SPRITUALITY
The Spirituality whch helps to develop the feelings or sense or believes
that there is something greater than myself, something more to being a
human than sensory experience & that the greater whole of which we
are part is cosmic or divine in nature . Spiritualty means knowing our
lives have significance in a context beyond a number of days existence
at the level of biological needs that drives selfishness & aggression . It
means knowing that we are a significant part of a purposeful unfolding
of life in own universe. The spiritual journey involves first healing & the
ego so that positive states are experienced , with secure self esteem ,
believe in self worth & a capacity for love & other factors.
