Lesson Plan in Kindergarten

NNN (Third Quarter)

I. Skill: Identifies animals in the community and describes how they can be
Useful.

II. Content Standards: The child demonstrates an understanding of


characteristics and needs of animals and how they grow

III. Performance Standards: The child shall be able to communicate the


usefulness of animals and practice ways to care for them`.

Materials: video clips, art materials, pictures

IV. Procedure:

Arrival Time:
Good morning children, how are you today? Let us all stand first and
offer our prayers to God.
Please remain standing for an action song titled
“The Animals in the Farm” in the tune “Wheels on the Bus”

Setting of standards:
What are you going to do children for you to be able to
understand our lesson for today?

Meeting Time 1:
Children I will let you hear something and identify what kind of animals,
makes the sound you hear.
Can you name some common animals that you see in our community?

Ask the questions:


1. Do you have animals at home?
2. What are the animals you have at home?
3. Why do your parents take care of this animals?
4. What can we get from this animals?
5. Are you taking good care of them too?

Message:

There are different kinds of animals in our


community and they are very useful to us.
Look at the pictures at each slide and identify what kind of animal is
shown. Describe how they can be useful to us.

Work Period 1:
Teacher- Supervised:
“Animal Mask”
Materials:
paper plate
glue
poster color
marker
cottons, artpapers
scissors

Direction:

1. You will first think of an animal you are going to make.


2. On the paper plate you will draw the animals nose, ears and mouth using a
marker
3. With the help of an adult cut a portion of the paper plate that will serves as eye
of the animal you have choosen
4. Cut the art paper which will serves as the skin of the chosen animal
5. Paste the art paper on the animals body
6. Cut the excess paper
7. You can now color your animals using the poster color

Here’s an example of the task

Independent Activity:
“Capture an Animal”
Directions:
1. (ICT Integration) Each learner will choose a pet or any animals they have at
home.
2. The learner will capture a selfie with the animal he/ she has chosen.
3. Send the photo to the teacher
4. If there are no gadgets available, learner may draw the animals he/ she have
at home.
Meeting Time 2:
Present your output and tell what kind of animals did you make.
How does your chosen animals be useful to us?

Supervised Recess:
Health Integration: Children before we eat our snacks what
are we going to do first with our hands? Why do we wash our
hands? Sing the song” Thank you God for our Food”

Story Time:
Sing the song “Its Story Time”
“Joseph’s New Coat”

Setting of Standards:
Children before we start our story time what are you going to do?
1. Listen attentively
2. Do not be noisy

Ask the questions about the story:


1. Who are the main characters in our story?
2. How many sons does Jacob have?
3. What is the work of Joseph in the story?
(Integration of) child labor is a crime in our country, kids like you must be in school
learning or playing not doing hard work or labor.
4. Why is a sheep useful to the family of Joseph?
5. What does it give?
Work Period 2:
Teacher- Supervised:
Match the things we get from the animals to the correct animals that gives these things.
Independent Activity:
Color the rooster according to the given color in each number.
Indoor/ Outdoor Activity:
“ Egg Relay”
Materials: 2 sets of spoon and egg (Hardboiled or plastic)
Direction:
1. Form 2 groups of the same number with your family members
2. The first player in each group holds the spoon with an egg (hardboiled or
plastic) in it.
3. Each player must carry their egg on their spoon from the starting line to a
turnaround point and back again.
4. Then, the egg is passed off to a teammate who takes their turn. If the egg is
dropped, the player must stop and retrieve it.
5. The first group to finish wins the game.
