Annual PPM of Transformer (Oil Type)

Task ID Description Status Findings


10 Ensure safety precautions.

Preparation:

20 If the transformer is connected to QM, trip the QM by shunting the trip circuit of transformer DGPT.

Isolate power from both sides by proper lock out and ensure there is no power, then discharge before touching the

connections.

Tasks:

40 Clean the exterior and check for leaks in body and fins.

50 Clean and check tightening of cable connections.

60 Check the operation of locking mechanism.

70 Check ground connections.

80 Megger Secondary side to ground. Record values.

90 Cooling oil test to be performed including Dielectric Strength Test,Water Content Test and Dissolved Gas Analysis.

100 Check and record current and voltage reading

110 Check and record operating temperature for any unusual rise.

120 Check the Oil level and report any defficiency.

130 Pressure / vacuum gauge reading (if equipped)

140 Fill proper forms including the S/S Equipment History Card & Transformer Checking Form.

10 Observe all safety precautions.

Ensure that a duly permit to work is obtained. Verify that the necessary warning signs/ marks e.g.
20 ”Danger”, "High VoItage","EIectricity" etc. are available on the Distribution Transformer and
readable. Report deficiencies

inspect visually the oil level gauge on the Distribution Transformer for any decrease in oil level.

lnspect visually the oil temperature gauge on the Transformer for any unusual rise in the temp.

Report deficiencies

lnspect visually the body of the Transformer (particularly the radiator fins) for any signs of oil

leakage. Report deficiencies

Inspect visually the LV and MV bushings and insulators for signs of any cracks/breaks and base

connections. Report any damages.

70 Inspect externally for any damage,corrosion,lost screws...etc.

80 Inspect physically for any unusual noise, vibration and overheating. Report deficiencies.

90 Verify that the ‘Asset Identification Tag / Marking‘ is available and readable. Rectify as needed

100 lnspect for the availability of an Earth / Ground system.
