Project 2: Topic :Statistics


1. Introduction and history of statistics .
2. Collection and presentation of data
3. Explain the three measures of central tendency .
4. Conduct a survey in your locality to study the height (in cm) and weight(in
kg) of your class mates/friends/relatives . You should collect data from a
sample size of at least 50 families. Classify the data into suitable class
intervals.
Draw histogram and locate mode in each case. State your interpretation in each case.
Project 3:(Activity)
Set up a dropper with ink in it vertical at a height of say 20cm above a horizontally
placed sheet of plain paper. Release one ink drop ; observe the pattern, if any on the
paper. Vary the vertical distance and repeat.
Discover any pattern of relationship between the vertical height and the ink drop
observed.
