5. ELABORATE Rhythmic Gymnastics is a sport in which
individuals or groups manipulate one or two
pieces of apparatus: rope, hoop, ball, clubs and
ribbon, or freehand. Rhthmic Gymnastics is a
sport that combines elements of ballet,
gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation.

There are 2 types of motorskills related to the


application of Rhythmic Gymnastics, these motor
skills are essential in performing Rhythmic
Gymnastics. Locomotor skills and non-locomotor
skills. I will show you pictures of some examples
of every motorskills.

Locomotor skills - A movement skills in which the


body is moved in one direction, or a combination
of directions, from one point to another. Here are
the examples:

WALKING RUNNING

LEAPING JUMPING

SKIPPING

SLIDING
Non-locomotor skills - Skills wherein the body's
movement does not involve movement from one
place to another. Example are, bending, twisting,
pushing, stretching, flexing, lifting, raising.

BENDING OF FLEXING TWISTING

STRETCHING SWAYING

6. EVALUATE

This time get ½ sheet of paper. Write an essay on


what do you understand in rhythmic gymnastics
skills.

Instruction: This activity is called


“SCRAMBLE WORDS”. I’ll be dividing you
into 2 Groups, and I will be presenting five
scrambled letters that you will be
arranging to find the correct word. You
will be guessing the word based on the
definition/description I will be reading.

ground the right foot is in the air moving
forward.

-An example of non-locomotor
movement that refers to extending of
joint in order to make a body part as long
and straight as possible.
