Following on from that, I'm pleased to share with you some relevant and up-to-date
information about the Golden Visa process: benefits, stages, available investment routes,
administrative costs and our legal fees.
Among the many benefits of the Portuguese Golden Visa, it allows:

· To its investors the possibility to live and work in Portugal for 2-year periods;
· The fast track to residence of foreign investors and families;
· That an investment qualifies the investor and the family;
· The free circulation within the Schengen Area, constituted by 26 European countries;
· The minimum required stay in Portugal of only 14 days, consecutive or non-
consecutive, for each period of two years;
· Investments held for a minimum period of 5 years;
· That there are no direct tax implications/obligations for income generated outside
Portugal;
· The legibility for permanent residence after 5 years;
· The legibility for Portuguese nationality after 5 years.
A. Steps, Timeframes and Procedures

1. Obtaining the Portuguese Taxpayer Identification Number (NIF) and Tax Representation
(if necessary)
The tax representation is required for non-EU residents.
We provide orientation regarding all necessary documents and expedite the process before
the Portuguese Tax Authority. Our service includes the reception of Tax Authority’s
correspondence on behalf of the applicants and its expedition by email.
2. Opening an Individual Portuguese Bank Account

We provide orientation regarding the necessary documents and intermediate the whole
process with the account manager.
I kindly inform that the bank is taking between 3-5 weeks to proceed with bank accounts.
3. Completion of Investment - Available investment routes:

The creation of at least 10 jobs;
Transfer of capital totalling 500,000 euros or more, applied to research activities carried out
by public or private scientific research institutions that are part of the national scientific and
technological system;
Transfer of capital totalling 250,000 euros or more, applied to investment or support for
artistic production, recovery or maintenance of national cultural heritage, through central
and peripheral direct administration services, public institutes, public business sector
entities, public foundations, private foundations with public utility status, inter-municipal
entities, local business sector entities, municipal associative entities and public cultural
associations, which pursue attributions in the area of artistic production, recovery or
maintenance of national cultural heritage;
Transfer of capital in the amount of €500,000 or more, intended for the acquisition of
participation units in investment funds or venture capital funds aimed at the capitalisation of
companies, which are constituted under Portuguese law, whose maturity, at the time of the
investment, is at least five years and at least 60 % of the value of the investments is made
in commercial companies based in national territory - If you wish, we can share with you the
contact details of our partners who specialize in this investment route;
Transfer of capital in the amount of €500,000 or more, intended for the incorporation of a
commercial company with registered office in Portugal, combined with the creation of five
permanent jobs, or for the reinforcement of the share capital of a commercial company
with registered office in Portugal, already incorporated, with the creation or maintenance of
jobs, with a minimum of five permanent jobs, and for a minimum period of three years.
4. Online Submission to Approval

Once the investment is made, the next steps are as follows:
· Online submission of the application with the upload of all relevant documents;
· Validation/approval of the application by the Immigration Services;
· Online scheduling of the appointment for biometrics;
· Visit of the Immigration Office for biometrics;
· Formal approval of the application;
· Payment of the approval fees and issuing of the residency card.
5. Approval and Issuing of the Residency Card

Regarding the approval of the application, please be informed that they are currently taking
an average 12 months for the applications to be approved.
Once the approval of the application is received, we shall organize and make the payment of
the fees payable to the Portuguese Government regarding the issuing of the residency card.
After the payment is made, the residency card is issued in around 8 months.
6. Renewal the Residency Card

Please note that the residency card will be valid for 2 years and after that it has to be
renewed. The renewal application should be submitted between 90 and 30 days before the
expiry date of the residency card.
7. Citizenship or Permanent Residency

When you reach the 5 years of legal residency in Portugal, in the following day to the
5th year of residency counted from the first date on the first residency card, you can apply
for Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
B. Administrative Costs
1. Residency
Initial Application:
· Initial Submission Fees: € 773,74 per person, to be paid when the application is
approved;
· Legalization/Certification of Documents: To be confirmed;
· Initial Approval Fees: € 7.730,11 per person, to be paid when the application is
approved.
Renewal:
· Initial Submission Fees: € 773,74 per person, to be paid during the biometric
appointment;
· Legalization/Certification of Documents: To be confirmed;
· Renewal Approval Fees: € 3.865,79 per person, to be paid when the application is
approved.
C. Legal Fees
1. Basic Package
With regard to initial application, our firm charges € 7.000,00 for the main applicant plus one
family member and € 750,00 for each extra family member.
This amount can be paid in 3 installments:
· 1st instalment, within 7 working days after signing the contract;
· 2nd instalment, after invested the minimum amount for the chosen route;
· 3rd instalment, after pre-approval of the application by AIMA.
As for the renewal, is charged € 500 per person and renewal, to be paid with the
subscription of our services.
2. Premium Package
In this package, renewals and applications for citizenship are included and our firm charges €
10,000 for the main applicant plus one family member and € 1,250 for each extra family
member.
This amount can also be paid in 7 installments:
· 1st instalment, within 7 working days after signing the contract;
· 2nd instalment, after invested the minimum amount for the chosen route;
· 3rd instalment, after pre-approval of the applications by AIMA;
· 4th instalment, after travel to the AIMA for the initial applications;
· 5th instalment, after scheduling the first renewals;
· 6th instalment, after scheduling the second renewals;
· 7th instalment, before assistance to the applications for citizenship.
