APPLICATION GUIDELINES
TURN RATE INSTALLATION
TURN RATE — number of centrifuged lube volumes per hour, • Return against pressure head using OTB (Oil Transfer Base) is

• ENGINE, Natural Gas — minimum turn rate: 8 tph
• Overhead service clearance — 11.25”
• ENGINE, Diesel — minimum turn rate: 5 tph; better
• In standard version, inlet port is #16 SAE O-ring, Female
application limit — apply 6000cc centrifuge only on engines of
displacement less than 135 litres. • Product DIM’s — Height: 19.1 to 23.9”; Diameter: 13”Ø

• Best Cleaning Point Best servicing at 1.5” dirt annulus thickness
• Fluid Source Centrifuge uses orifices to create sufficient turbine speed; use highest pressure, highest
temperature lube source with no inlet restrictions
• Flowrate 16.5 gpm at 60 psi inlet, SAE 40 oil @ 150°F

This product may be applied with lower flowrate orifices for flows ranging from 8 through 16
gpm (contact your Glacier Distributor)
• Fluid viscosity 5 to 100 cSt
• Dirt Toxicity Tested only for diesel debris: TCLP Test showed no toxicity
• Hydraulic Internal
Pressure limit 150 psi; cover fails by simple deformation
• Oil Transfer Base, OTB Regulator supplied accepts maximum air inlet pressure of 400 psi
• OTB air consumption less than 20 in3 per minute

• Bearing Limitations This pressure-powered centrifuge is designed to employ the fluid it is cleaning for proper
bearing support; see viscosity requirements above.
NOT suitable for heavily-loaded machine tool coolants (contact distributor).
• Application Limits When applied on too large a volume or oil, or too large a dirt-generating system, this product
will fail to achieve desired impact on lube life, system durability and system cleanliness.
Use turn rate guidelines established through field experience (see Application Guidelines).
This size product is effective on diesels whose swept displacement ranges from 35 to 130
liters; above ~130 liter engine displacement, this size unit is inadequate but sometimes
applied which may result in unwarranted confidence about lube oil contaminant control.
