ART INTEGRATED HHW


GRADE: 6

*Art-Integration is a cross curricular pedagogical approach that utilizes various aspects and forms of art and culture as the basis
for experiencing the learning of concepts across subjects. As a part of the thrust on experiential learning, art-integrated
education has been embedded in classroom transactions not only for creating joyful classrooms, but also for imbibing the Indian
ethos through integration of Indian art and culture in the teaching and learning process at every level.
* Grade 6 students are required to create an Art-Integrated Homework (trans-disciplinary homework) focusing on Arunachal
Pradesh, the partner state designated under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Programme.
*This HHW is a part of subject enrichment activity (marks of the same will be a part of internal assessment in Term
Examination for classes 6-9).
*Details of the same will be discussed by the subject teacher/HRT.
*Students will be presenting/submitting the work to the HRT.
*Rubric for Max-Marks 10 are Creativity-2, Content-2, Originality, analysis 2 , Presentation-2 and on time submission- 2

Designing a Menu Card (in English & Hindi language)- The cuisine of Arunachal Pradesh is
heavily influenced by the region's diverse ethnic groups, each with their own unique culinary
traditions.
Learners will design a ‘Digital Menu Card’ of popular dishes of Arunachal Pradesh using
Power Point Presentation (2 –4 slides).

Cultural snapshot: The objective of this interdisciplinary assignment is to promote cultural
awareness and understanding about the cuisine of the country (France, Germany, Japan, Spain)
Activity-Students will design a Menu Card of 2 – 3 pages with pictures of popular dishes of the
respective country (whose language students have opted as third language) using A 3 sheet by
folding it .

Learning Objective- Students will learn the different styles of Mandala art used by the

tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.

In Arunachal Pradesh, Mandala Art holds deep cultural significance, reflecting the spiritual
beliefs, heritage, and environment of its indigenous tribes. These tribes integrate mandala-like
motifs into their traditional arts, such as textiles, pottery, and wood carvings. These intricate
designs often represent nature, tribal cosmology, and spirituality.

MATHEMATICS, For example, among the Monpa tribe, mandala-like patterns can be found in their traditional
SCIENCE AND thangka paintings, which depict Buddhist deities, mythical creatures, and scenes from Tibetan
Buddhist cosmology. Similarly, the Apatani tribe is known for its intricate cane and bamboo
SOCIAL crafts, where they incorporate geometric patterns reminiscent of mandalas into their basketry
SCIENCE and weaving.
Task:

Make a portfolio having 5-6 sheets to submit your findings in the following manner: -

Page 1: Design a creative cover page highlighting the features of various tribes of Arunachal

Pradesh for your portfolio.

Page 2: Students will choose any two tribes of Arunachal Pradesh who used various styles of

Mandala art and write about their lifestyle, clothing, and occupation on A4 size sheet. (Use

different sheets for different tribes).

Page 3: Design a colourful and unique style of Mandala Art using your own creativity and

imagination on an A4 sheet. Students may use grains, petals, dry fruits, shells, etc. to decorate

their art piece.

Page 4: Write the nutrients present in the food grains used in your art piece in a tabular form.
