Name: Date:

Section: Teacher: Score:

Through the Looking Glass 60 minutes

Purpose
This activity aims to relate and apply the self-awareness theories in real-life situations
and your personal experiences.

Instructions
1. Read and understand each statement. Then, answer the question that follows.
2. Use the rubric provided to guide you in completing the output.

Example
Self-awareness is knowing yourself extensively regarding your traits and
characteristics, your inner state, and the way you think. How would you say that
knowing yourself allows you to deal better with others and, in the process, create
more meaningful relationships?
Possible answer: “When you know who you are, you can openly communicate your
thoughts and wants. It will create a better understanding between yourself and
others. Consequently, this leads to a more satisfying relationship. When I started
learning more about myself, I became easily unaffected by what others were saying
about me. I began learning to prioritize the values I believe in and the things that I
want.”

2. Clear and substantial self-concept aids us in becoming more self-aware through a

stable view of our positive traits. This also results in higher self-esteem and less
vulnerability to stress caused by conflicts between your actual self and your ideal
self.

Based on the given statement, share some personal experiences where you have
shown relatively high self-esteem. Do you think having higher self-concept clarity
helps you get higher self-esteem?
