iii) H2 + ½ O2 H2O Hf = - 286 kj/mol
iv) CH3OH + 3/2O2 CO2 + 2H2O Hf = - 726 kj/mol
(xii) At constant pressure of 101300 N/m2 when 4000 j of heat supplied to a system then 500 j of internal
energy raised. Calculate the change in volume of the system.
(xiii) Define Hydration and hydrolysis. Why is the aqueous solution of NH4Cl is acidic while that of
Na2CO3 is basic?
(xiv) The solubility of calcium oxalate (CaC2O4) is 0.0016 g/dm3 at 25oC.
Find solubility product of calcium oxalate: CaC2O4 Ca2+ + C2 O2

(xv) In a reaction H2 + I2 2HI when equilibrium was attained, the concentration was

Dissociation energy of Cl2 (g) = 242 KJ / mol
Electron affinity of Cl2 (g) = - 348.5 KJ / mol
Lattice energy of RbCl (s) = - 689 KJ / mol
