NARRATIVE REPORT ON CATCH-UP FRIDAY WEEK 1

Mathematics 10

In alignment with DepEd Memorandum 001 s. 2024 which is the

implementation of Catch-Up Fridays, our department collaborated with the English
department on Operationalizing the National Reading Program (NRP).
This week, we introduced the reading text entitled “Madeline: The Girl with
2999 pesos bag” which was written by one of our English teachers.
The first activity is the pre-reading, enriching the vocabulary by asking the
students to spell some words that they will encounter in the given reading text,
Next is during reading, silent reading took first followed by reading by group.
After reading the text, we tested the comprehension of learners about the text they
read by the question and answer.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON CATCH-UP FRIDAY WEEK 2

Mathematics 10

As for the continuation of the implementation of Catch-Up Friday, and as one

of the assigned department in National Reading Program, we prepare a reading to
be given to our learners from https://en.islcollective.com/, entitled “A love letter to a
tree”.
The reading program took place inside the classroom. As for the pre-reading
activity, learners had a spelling of words. These words are also translated into
Tagalog. In this activity, learners realized the correct pronunciation of some words
that they mispronounced years ago. During the reading activity, chorale reading took
place. And for the post-reading activity, aside from the comprehension questions to
check the learner’s understanding of the given reading text, they are also asked to
make their own love letter to a tree.

Practice what you know, and it will help to make clear what now you do not
know.
– Rembrandt

For the third week of the reading program in our subject, we decided to use
the text entitled “ Numbers “ again came from https://en.islcollective.com/, on these story,
learners encounter different numbers that were relevant in our daily lives such as age,
birthdays, and dates. Aside from the word-by-word translation of the story and
comprehension check, as a post–reading activity, learners are given an activity to translate
or write the different numbers in words and vice-versa. The activity does not only practice
their reading and comprehension ability but also their numeracy skills.
Hoping to get another reading text that will enhance both reading and
numeracy for next week’s program.
