1. XY COMPANY LIMITED
XY Company has been in operation for 15 years now and it has been highly regarded for its good
products and services. Many have enjoyed the company’s customer care services and even sent their
staff for benchmarking activities. However, in recent times, the contrary is happening. The leadership
and general governance style has totally changed. Corruption is rampant, no respect to the constitution
of Kenya, not even the basic ethics and rules of the company. The company, which is privately owned,
seems incapable of understanding what is happening, and there is no solution in sight for its current
problems. A recently appointed Managing Director who holds a degree in leadership and management,
seems not to understand even the role of the constitution of Kenya in leadership. His style of leadership
is also wanting. Many are now contending that, if the trend continues then, the company has a very
short future unless it redeems itself into the modern world reality as a matter of urgency. They argue
that the company is ill-prepared to tackle the current challenges with its current structure.
