    THE PAINT ENVIRONMENT

    Microsoft paint, also called MS Paint or Paint, is a graphic package that is used to create and
    edit images, pictures and graphic drawings on the computer. It is included in all the Microsoft
    windows versions.
    Starting Microsoft Paint
    1. Click on the start button.
    2. Point to All programs.
    3. Point to Accessories.
    4. Select Paint.
    This takes you to Microsoft paint environment.
    Microsoft paint tools and their functions

    Functions of Toolbox Tools


    1. Free-Form Select: This tool is used to select a specific object, which you can then copy and
    paste in another location, or you can opt to delete that selection.
    2. Eraser/Colour Eraser: The eraser/colour eraser tool erases your drawing or the colour you
    have applied.
    3. Pick Colour: This tool picks a specific colour you want and makes it the active colour, meaning
    that whatever you do next will have that colour.
    4. Pencil: The pencil tool is used for drawing.
    5. Airbrush: This tool sprays your object with colour.
    6. Line : The line tool draws a line. To make your line straight, hold down the Shift key and then
    drag your mouse, holding the left button. Select the thickness of the line below the toolbox.
    7. Rectangle : This tool makes rectangles. You can also draw a square by holding the Shift key.
    8. Ellipse: The ellipse tool is used to draw an ellipse; you can also draw a perfect circle by
    holding the shift key before you start dragging your mouse.
    9. Select: The select tool is used to select objects in drawing area.
    10. Fill With Colour: This fills an object with colour at once.
    11. Magnifier: The magnifier tool is used to make objects in the drawing area appear bigger or
    smaller
    12. Brush: It is used for painting, just like you would paint your house.
    13. Text: The text tool is used for entering text.
    14. Curve: The curve tool draws a curve.
    15. Polygon : It is used to draw a polygon, but you can draw a lot of other objects.
    16. Rounded Rectangle: This tool helps you to draw a rectangle with rounded corners.
    Assignment
    Write the steps to draw the following objects in Microsoft paint:
    1. Rectangle
    2. Square
    3. Circle
