DESCRIPTION
PRIVA-LITE® is an active glass which,
under the effect of an electric current,
switches from translucent to transparent
with no alteration of light transmission.
Light transmission is almost identical in
the transparent and translucent states.

Two layers of extra clear glass encap-

sulate a liquid crystal (LC) film inserted
between EVA or PVB layers.
This LC film is composed of two PET
films coated with a transparent metal-
lic deposit and laminated together by
means of a very fine layer of liquid crys-
tal gel.

Due to voltage application liquid crystals

orient themselves toward the same di-
rection. PRIVA-LITE CLASSIC is powered
by 100 Volts AC, and PRIVA-LITE XL by
65 Volts AC. The LC Film (Translucent
in OFF state) then becomes instanta-
neously transparent. In its translucent
state, PRIVA-LITE® offers an ideal back
projection screen.

COMPOSITION
Standard 55.4 (12 mm thickness) laminated
glass, available as double/ triple glazing.

Can be composed of glass that is tempered,

coloured, screen-printed, bent.

Can also be used as the inner sheet of a

double-glazing with all of the products from
the range of glazing from SAINT-GOBAIN
(ULTRA N, COOL LITE, ANTELIO, STADIP
PROTECT, STADIP SILENCE, CONTRA-
FLAM) and combined with panels from the
range of product GLASSOLUTIONS:
LEDinGLASS, E-GLAS, TEXGLASS.

ELECTRODES AND CABLE EXIT

Depending on the size of the glass-pane,
both electrodes can be positioned either
on top, at the bottom, on the right or
left side, with the exit of the cable at the
125 cm
centre of the electrodes’ side.

in our installation and maintenance guide are followed.

INSTALLATION
PRIVA-LITE may be installed either as inte-
rior glass, or as a façade as isolated glass.
You may install PRIVA-LITE either in 4 side
profiles, or butt joined, for continuous glass
wall effect.
Doors, windows, walls, may be equipped
with PRIVA-LITE.
Full systems ready to install are also pro-
posed, like sliding doors, pivotal doors (ask
your Saint-Gobain Glassolutions dealer for
details).

SGGS provides the adapted silicone and

glass tape for conform installations.
PRIVA-LITE is easy to install by any profes-
sional glazier; detailed install guide and
professional support are provided.
Electric installing is very simple (of course
to be done observing the electric installa-
tion rules, at the install location).

TRANSFORMER
AND CONTROL
Specific plug and play transformers and
cables are provided with each PRIVA-LITE.
Transformer may be installed in separate
rooms, up to 20meters away from the
glass. PRIVA-LITE may be easily controlled
withstandard wall switch, we propose also
compatible radio-controlled wall switches
or remote controls.
