ABOUT US

At The Third Dimension Aeromodelling Club, we dedicate ourselves to the

creation and enhancement of a wide range of models, spanning from
Aerodynamic gliders to Autonomous Drones and Rockets. Our endeavors
encompass taking on projects that push the boundaries of aeromodelling,
delving into areas such as fluid mechanics, surveillance, advanced control
systems, and auto-piloting algorithms, thereby establishing new
benchmarks and achieving remarkable milestones.
Established in 2013, the club was formed by a group of passionate
aeromodelling enthusiasts driven by their love for challenging the laws of
physics and reaching new heights through the construction of UAVs from
the ground up. Through the passage of time, our models have undergone
significant transformations, our expertise has expanded extensively, and
we have proudly clinched numerous top positions in various National
Competitions and events, solidifying our reputation as a leading force in
the aeromodelling community.

OUR DOMAINS
01 AERODYNAMICS AND ROCKETRY
The team dedicated to aerodynamics and rocketry is specifically centered on
enhancing the design of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). This area of expertise
also involves overseeing the complete coordination of multiple simulations
designed to assess and scrutinize the effectiveness of these UAV designs.
These simulations necessitate the utilization of modeling and simulation
applications like ANSYS and Solidworks.

02 AVIONICS
The avionics team serves as the central nervous system of aircraft, overseeing
flight control systems, sensor integration, telemetry, software, and
maintenance to maintain smooth operation, stability, and safety. Additionally,
this field incorporates the utilization of Machine Learning algorithms for
optimized control systems and Computer Vision technologies for the
advancement of autonomous systems.

03 MARKETING AND MEDIA

Being introduced this year, They are responsible for managing the club's public
image through the implementation of professional marketing strategies,
attracting potential sponsors and partners, and bolstering the club's reputation
within the aeromodelling community. They chronicle the club's progress by
capturing photos, videos, and social media posts that highlight various
projects, events, and accomplishments. Additionally, they are assigned the
task of creating visually appealing content for the club's social media channels,
requiring skills such as video editing to craft engaging short clips. Furthermore,
they play a vital role in upholding the quality and timely delivery of all social
media content from the club, ensuring that the material is consistently top-
notch and in line with the organization's branding and communication.

2023-24 CORE REVIEW
PRESIDENT 23-24
ANIRUTH A
The Third Dimension Aeromodelling Club became my launchpad into
the world of aerospace engineering. Through hands-on projects, I
gained a deep understanding of aircraft design and the principles that
make flight possible. This experience solidified my passion for the field
and paved the way for my career aspirations. What truly distinguished
3D was its unique approach. The club offered a balanced experience,
encompassing both research-oriented projects and the thrill of
competitive endeavors, unlike many clubs that focus solely on one
aspect. The collaborative spirit at 3D was truly inspiring. Every member
felt empowered to contribute ideas, fostering an exchange of
knowledge. The invaluable guidance from senior members and the
supportive team members made my time at 3D an incredibly enriching
experience. It stands out as the highlight of my college years, and the
skills and memories I gained will forever be a valuable asset.

VICE PRESIDENT 23-24

JOTHIKA K
The Third Dimension Club was my home away from home for the past
three years. With a passion for aerospace, I joined to gain hands-on
experience. I worked on incredible projects, from gliders to drones,
participated in national-level competitions, attended conferences,
and published papers. These experiences helped me secure an
international internship and build a strong foundation for my master's
in aerospace. Most importantly, the club introduced me to amazing
batchmates and juniors who became my closest circle in college. Fun
trips, treats, meetings, and work sessions strengthened our bond. I
gained invaluable technical and managerial skills beyond classroom
lectures and by challenging ourselves, I have witnessed this club soar
to great heights. If you're looking for a place to grow, enjoy learning,
and connect with like-minded people, the Third Dimension Club is for
you!

TREASURER 23-24
GOKUL RAJ M
With a passion for working on UAVs, joining Third Dimension was one
great thing I did in college. Being in the club, I got to participate in
national competitions, building planes and drones from scratch, which
was an incredible experience. Working on many projects together
improved my technical skills significantly, and at the same time, the
memories I created along the line will be cherished forever. The best
part was the collaborative environment, where the team became more
like a family. Moreover, the amazing friendships that I have formed and
this family will always hold a special place in my heart.

AVIONICS HEAD 23-24
NITTEESH M
Third dimension, the Aeromodelling club of NIT-T, is not just a technical
club; it's a place where lifelong bonds are forged. This is where I was
transformed from a lump of clay into a beautifully crafted pot, shaped
lovingly by the club and our incredible seniors.
More than my academics and hostel life, I spent my days and nights in
SAC and Scient. This club is very close to my heart. I found wonderful
seniors, juniors, and friends who became like family to me. Every
project, every late-night discussion, and every flight test brought us
closer together, creating memories that I will cherish forever.
I always wish for the growth of our club and hope everyone reaches
greater heights. The club gave me a sense of belonging and purpose,
something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. My college life
wouldn't have been complete if I hadn't joined the club. It wasn't just an
experience; it was a journey of self-discovery and transformation.

AERO HEAD 23-24

SHRISTI S
The Third Dimension Aeromodelling Club has been instrumental
not only in my professional growth but also in shaping me as an
individual. Starting as a junior in the team and eventually
becoming a core member, I worked on a wide range of projects
that exposed me to technological advancements in Aerospace
Engineering and Aircraft design. It was my privilege to be part of
such an amazing team, where I had the opportunity to
collaborate with knowledgeable peers, have fun, and create
countless memories. Joining the club was one of the best
aspects of my college experience.

AERO HEAD 23-24

JONATHAN SPURGEON
I decided to join 3D because I was fascinated by aerodynamics and
how things fly and I was so glad when I got in. Being part of 3D gave me
the opportunity to work on various design and computational projects.
This helped me in landing internships and also narrowing down my
interests and find the specialisation I'm passionate about since I was
planning to go for higher studies. I also found some amazing friends
during my time in 3D with whom I had fun with and because I shared
similar interests, I could ask for any help to seniors and batchmates
when I was clueless about what I wanted to do!

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?
"IT IS NOT THAT I AM SO SMART, BUT THAT I STAY WITH THE QUESTIONS LONGER."
-Albert Einstein
Foremost, We do not anticipate individuals to possess a high level of
expertise in any of the domains previously mentioned by us. Instead, what
we are looking for is a keen interest in acquiring new knowledge, a strong
dedication to the tasks at hand, a resilient attitude that never gives up,
and a positive demeanor towards others while being an exceptional team
player. Furthermore, we value consistency in work, a diligent work ethic,
and effective communication skills.

In addition to these qualities, we can assure you that our onboarding

needed to learn and excel in the specific domain you are interested in.
We aim to support your growth and development within our organization
by offering a structured induction program to help you apply yourself
effectively and efficiently.

Having a good understanding of the concepts related to the domain can

make your process easier, but it won't guarantee selection. We base our
decisions entirely on how you perform in the tasks you'll be given during
the induction process.
Note: You can apply for the marketing and media domain even if you are
good at any one of the areas needed for the domain, as we don’t expect
you to be an expert in all the working areas of that domain.

CONCEPTS/SKILLS THAT CAN BE BONUS :

Aero and Rocketry: Good knowledge in basic aerodynamics and
fluid mechanics concepts, software such as XFLR5 and SolidWorks
Avionics: Knowledge in embedded systems, image processing, and
machine learning.
