IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous The teacher will ask the learners if they have an idea what are the
lesson or presenting the words that have the same meaning with the following:

The teacher will ask the learners if they have an idea what are the
words that have the opposite meaning with the following:
1. Happy
2. Big
Example:
Woman – lady or girl
Big – Huge or Large
Happy – Glad or Joyful
Example:
I saw a tiny ant. It was so little that I could not see his legs.
The teacher will ask if they have an idea what are the words with
the same meaning or the synonyms in the sentence.
Among the group of words, identify the two words that are synonyms.

Boy
Man
Nurse
Teacher
GROUP 2:
Morning
Evening
Night
Rainy
GROUP 3:
Finish
Done
Last
Third
If there are words that are synonyms, there are also words that are
opposite in meaning. There are words that have the opposite meaning.
These words are called Antonyms.
Examples:
Big – Small
Happy – Sad
Day – Night
Activity 2:
Directions: Choose the correct antonym of the underlined words from the
words in the box. Write your answer in your notebook.
