skills #1
What are the steps in multiplying decimal numbers by 1-
digit whole number?

STEPS IN MULTIPLYING 1-2 DECIMAL NUMBER

BY 2-DIGIT WHOLE NUMBER

Step 1: Write the multiplication sentence in the same

way as whole numbers are multiplied by writing the
whole number at the buttom as a multipier because it has
the least number of digit.

Step 2: Start at ones digit of the multiplier in multiplying it

to all digits of the multiplicand.
Step 3 : Put a zero (0) below the ones digit of the initial
product and start multiplying the tens-digit of the
multiplier to all the digits of the multiplicand.

Step 4: Add the initial product and the medial product to

get the final product.

Count the number of decimal places in the decimal number

being multiplied.
Step 5: Count the number of decimal places in the decimal
number being multiplied.

Step 6: The final product must have the same number

of decimal places as the decimal number being
multiplied.

E. Discussing new Example #2 of multiplying 1-2 digit decimal number
