COURSE SYLLABUS

1. Course: Reading- Writing C1.1


- Code number: FL 208
- Credits: 3 credits
- Hours: 15 theory hours, 60 practice hours, and 90 self-study hours
2. Prerequisites: FL207
3. Course description
The C1.1 Reading-Writing course provides theoretical and practical knowledge of
reading comprehension skills used in most social fields and writing skills
equivalent to C1 level according to the 6-level Foreign Language Competency
Framework of Vietnam. After completing this course, for reading skills, learners
can understand long and complex passages, even those that are not in their field of
expertise, provided that they re-read difficult passages. For writing skills, learners
can write well-structured essays on complex topics.
4. Course objectives
After the end of the course, students can
-Apply social knowledge in the implementation of reading and writing skills.
-Analyze documents to apply to the implementation of reading and writing level
C1 according to the 6-level foreign language capacity framework in Vietnam
- Develop critical skills in issues related to reading and writing skills
-Develop skills to communicate problems and solutions when working with others

UNITS READING WRITING
Unit 1 What makes someone admirable? Write an analysis essay
Unit 2 What makes you want to buy something? Write a descritive essay
Unit 3 What important lessons do we learn as Write a narrative essay
children?
Unit 4 How important is it to write by hand? Write a compare and
contrast essay
Unit 5 Should science influence what we eat? Write a cause-effect essay
Unit 6 Does school prepare you for work? Write a summary
Unit 7 Is discovery always a good thing? Write an opinion essay
Unit 8 Why is it important to play? Write a persuasive essay
6. Assessment
